Steroids in Sports

A con argument I came across is that with contact sports (football, hockey, combat) is that if these athletes are hitting each other harder, they will injure each other more. Do PEDs harden the skull and make the brain less susceptible to trauma?
This is assuming that the guys making those hits aren’t already on.

That many of them are has already been proven.

I think gear should be legal and all, but if it aint, and you signed a contract and you get busted then you’re a dumbass

The general public will never except it. Guys using them will always been seen as cheaters. Like it or not, that is the way it is and will be.
Unfortunately this is probably the truth. People want to watch people do the impossible, then think they could do the same thing, then when they find out they can’t, they want to blame the drugs. People love an underdog, until you find out what the underdog has done to win/elevate themselves to the highest level possible.

Apparently someone sticking a needle filled with oil in their ass does not have that feel good story behind it.

Very good point. This wouldnt be much of an issue for sports like baseball and basketball though.

really sen say??? gay??? Bet you were some kind of dork with no coordination, or thought soccer or karate was cool. What a bitch!!!

and yes I played pro ball, and am bigger than you so don’t try to pop off somethin stupid

hank arron would have hit 1428 homers if he cheated like all these aholes do today.

What makes you think he had more talent or skill than the players today?

That being said it is stupid to believe that most of the records being broken in everything these days is solely because of better training and nutrition. PED usage is widespread in every top sport. I wish they would just make it legal and lift the ban and let them go nuts. Would be more exciting to watch imo.
I agree it should be legal but I don’t agree that all top athletes are not already on lots of fun stuff. I think it’s needed when you reach that level just to not crush your body. I think they are very beneficial to the athletes. So I think they are using but just having to be sneaky about it which actually is pretty easy IMO. But it should be legal.

Also side note I do think many AAS could have benefits for the general pop when used correctly.
I agreed that all top athletes are already on lots of fun stuff lol =D

Those are the arguments that make me lol. God damn its all AAS. Not skill or training. No way are these ppl training better or actualky have more skill. AAS make you a god and jacked without work ect

If the difference for you as a player getting a (example) 2 year 8 million dollar contract or a 4 year 30 million dollar contract was using PEDs…would you do it?

That’s not a good example. Look at Brauns huge contract. He got paid even though he lied about the so called tampered test and threw people under the bus. He is still getting over 100 million bucks and I would think most players would take PEDs if they knew it could get them a contract over 100 million bucks.

That’s the point…if you knew your statistics would improve, in maybe a contract year, why wouldn’t you do it? It’s worth the risk

I am not a fan. I know that there are steroids in all sports but I believe athletes should be penalized for it. There needs to more testing for all sports. One thing that irks me are the players who lie about taking them and then attack others for accusing them. I believe sports should be conducted on an even playing field with regards to PEDs.

I wish that ESPN would do a piece on how steroids improve your overall ability and the side effects of these steroids. That way the uneducated people would get some insight. I truly do not know the real side effects.

In reality taking roids is cheating in sports. Fans need to realize this and the athletes need to hold themselves to a higher standard.

So apparently you are all for cheating and not actually having ability, that’s awesome!! Why don’t we all just take a bunch of drugs an show kids that look up to us it is really worth it! Sounds great! Can’t wait to have tits and no balsa when I am a little older that’s so awesome gotta love these steroids!!

Wow! You joined today to make this post!

I am super impressed with you! You should tell us who your other account is so we can congratulate him on originality, because no one in the history of the internet has ever done this!

Baseball is no different than track, cycling, college football, pro football, and pro wrestling. Plenty of guys (and women) using. There is so much money from corporate sponsors, that if it were to all be legal, the corporations’ sponsorship money may dry up. The NFL has the hokey “policy,” which is nothing more than window dressing to appease sponsors. That is how it is. The talking heads are merely blowing smoke up our asses, with constant drivel about the integrity of the game. Really? They are dirty sports. Period. Do I enjoy watching them? Sure. Like it or not, expect for hypocrisy to be the order of the day.

The NFL’s policy is hilarious because some people think all these ‘substance abuse’ suspensions really are for adderall, codeine, and weed.

We pretty much exist in an ass-holier than thou rat-bastard society today. The players who took things in the past that never got busted are jumping on the PED = bad bandwagon. Owners, coaches, managers, trainers that who have conveniently previously looked the other way, I’ll throw them in there too.

Most of the other 12 who also were suspended were taking OTC items you can get in GNC or Target and some pissed dirty.

The Biogenesis thing puts another spin on it. Supposedly AA-Rod was trying to get his records from them and he was recruiting other players to be clients. Which may be the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, since AAs magically give you ability. I could take every AA known to man at insane doses and I would never hit a homerun in a MLB game. GTFO.
