I just did an online calculator. Is @highpull saying that libido goes down if you’re under 50 pg/ml? That would be wild if true.
No, not saying that. I assumed he meant pg/mL.
That study IS saying that levels of estradiol above 50 pg/ml are associated with increased libido, and in fact, that was the ONLY relationship between hormone levels and increased libido that survived multivariate analysis.
I don’t think @highpull would find it that surprising, given most of his guys are over 50 pg/ml at trough, let alone average or peak values: Testosterone Cream - Pros & Cons - #35 by highpull

So then something must get really messed up when taking exogenous Test. Normal guys not on TRT don’t walk around with E2 levels above 50 pg/ml

What’s interesting though is how many natural men are actually walking around with those levels. Matter of a fact a doctor will usually show concern if a natural is at those levels.
This is what I am saying as well, and isn’t something to ignore. I said in the past that we have too many stories online of guys saying something was very off once they went on TRT and it made sexuality worse.

It def would be very interesting to give E2 a try. For example I’ve been experimenting with AI on top of my TRT for the last couple or so weeks. I’ve never done that ever but had some Anastrazole and thought why not and gave it a try. So I did 0.25mg, then 0.25mg again in a few days- nothing. Next week I tried 0.5mg, felt absolutely the same. No change in anything including libido, downstairs department work, cognitive functions, etc. So this week decided to give another 0.5mg a try and again I feel absolutely the same as without the AI. So that def puts AI off for me and I don’t need it nor benefit from it. So now I wonder what would adding E2 feel going the other way. Def on my list of experiments if I continue on my TRT adventure. I think for some people, it could well be the case that TRT messes with your sexual systems such that now you need supraphysiological E2 to overcome detrimental effects of TRT and have a strong libido. Might be a consequence of HPTA shutdown or effects on neurotransmitters or something else entirely.

We’ve all seen that chart that shows the age groupings of males, their average test and average estrogen levels. It was like ages 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, etc. showing averages.
The average males, that were like in their teens and early twenties all had higher test, with E2 in the low twenties.
We all know how a guy feels at those ages. This contradicts the high e2 thing.

Yup all the charts show test the highest early on and then dropping off, while E2 lowest early on and inversely going higher as men age.
So it’s not even a matter of one or the other, both have an inverse relation when it comes to the aging process.
I had my 22 year old test his just to see. His Total T was 533, his free T was 13.7, and his E2 was 16.

Yes and no. The claim isn’t that natty guys have higher libido with high E2. The claim is that men on TRT have higher libido with high E2. Seems quite plausible that we are playing by different rules after you have disrupted a dozen hormones, neurotransmitters, etc with TRT.

Very tempted. Please get labs! 2mg pills might make sense for you running 350mg Test a week.
Also I remember a study floating around showing that once test started getting well into supra physiological doses, the conversion to E2 diminished and eventually reached a cap where no more E2 conversion would take place. It’s possible he’s taking an amount where he needs the supplemental E2 to keep a favorable ratio that would otherwise occur naturally at a more physiological level.

My doctor would laugh at me. Would NEVER prescribe it.

These are inexpensive from overseas pharmacies and it isn’t a controlled substance so there are no legal concerns. I picked up 84 tablets to try this experiment myself for $30.
