Standing Calf Raise - Help

What the best method for these? The gym I use doesn’t have one of the lever machines so that’s not an option. I have treid using one of the freemotion step-up machines but that’s pretty unstable unless I use one hand to support myself and that causes more weight to be put on whichever side I am holding the cable on.

I guess the correct answer is to do it with a bar on my back or dumb bells at my sides, but that seems rather unstable as well.

Thoughts?

try the smith machine?

Here’s a couple of alternatives for you.

Donkey Calf raises on a smith machine

Donkey Calf raises

Seated calf raise

Calf raises on vertical leg press machine

Full extension down, full extension up, i also squeeze tight at the top, 20 reps, 402 tempo doing standing calf raise.

Hope these help!!

Smith Machine, if you have one - failing that, donkeys.

So when you say smight machine you mean just put the bar on my shoulders and step up on a box and do the calf raises off the back side right?

Thanks again for all the ideas.

stand on a block and use dumbells?
