Standing Cable Chest Press

I have shoulder pain in my right shoulder, because of a tight neck. I never do bench presses, but I did have overhead pressing in my routine. I have actually ignored all vertical rowing and vertical pressing movements. I want to add either dumbell bench presses or Standing Cable Chest Presses to my routine. Which one is better?

Are there any videos or instructions on the Standing Cable Chest Press? I have only found this image, no video clips or anything else? Why is it said that potracting the scapulae is a good thing in this exercise, while it is a bad thing in a bench press?

Because in this movement your scapulae are free to protract, whereas they’re “pinned” underneath you in the bench press. In the bench, your scapulae are essentially your base of support, you don’t want them shifting around. This lack of protraction is why adding something like a standing press or a pushup plus is good for that sleepy serratus.

Maybe parrelel bar dips?

Parallel dips only if your torso is parallel to the ground at the top. I don’t see too many people finishing their dips that way. However, the top of a dip is good too because if you push your chest out at lockout you can train your neglected scapular depressors and upward rotators.
