Squats: Do They Always Work?

if you are still running (especially long distance) it could be detracting from your weight training. unless you do short sprints, that will actually help.

Also, if you have been doing squats as your only leg excercise since college, it would probably help to switch it up. For tall people it actually helps to try the dreaded leg press (i’m 6’3"), also hack squat, lunges, split squat. Also, Front squat sometimes helps keep a more upright back in tall people so it is a more quad dominant excercise.

where did this idea of only squatting once a week come from??

if your legs feel good squat again

also as said try mixing in different rep schemes and exercises such as leg press,

might be an idea to look into the hungarian oak article posted a couple of weeks ago

whats your body weight?

how much do you squat?

I have got better growth from the leg press than squats. Give that a shot for a few weeks and see what happens

No matter what you do, though, make sure you are eating enough to grow.

No.

no.

um yes?

Perhaps you should try high-rep leg press for a change. That’s what finally gave me a hint of a quad sweep on my naturally skinny legs. Don’t neglect the hamstrings.

seriously the best advice on this thread.

Hmm…stop squating and start trying to get bigger legs. That makes the most sense to me.
