Squat Rack Curls Quatro

Saw a guy in the “wallsit” position leaning over with his elbows on his knees doing concentration curls and only going down to about a 90 degree angle max at his elbow. What? I mean I guess if no benches are free…

Fair enough i wasnt there at the time and he might have just been moving the bench out of the way to get on the smith press , but no as i start doing my 2nd set he proceeds to sit down and start doing an incline chest press or shoulder press with his lap no more than 4/5 inches slightly off centre from my face , so as i finnish my set i bang the weight down (not too hard but enough) to register my displeasure at his blatent disregard for my personal space .

When i have completed my sets and start unloading the bar he has to move his legs to as the plates that i am taking off are hitting his legs .

Needless to say it made me a little bit angry which would have been great at the start if my workout as i could have used the anger in a positive way , [/quote]

Now, now… use your words.

yesterday, i was doing sumo deadlifts and everyone started to “correct” my form, in the middle of my set!
i’m one of the few people in my gym who actually deadlifts over 315, but apparently everyone knows proper deadlift form.

some old women started explaining to me how i shouldn’t over exert myself in the gym too.

but 225 lbs bench press with a big ol’ bounce on the chest is safe!

I love these chest-bouncers, and as I’ve said before, “half-rep homos” but today I found something that makes the CB’s look normal.

Dude was doing cable pressdowns and curls one arm at a time. He would use his free arm to help out during all the sets. Why not just lower the fucking weight?

And while hes at that, theres another dude that needs to learn how to fucking bench.

Holy snikes! Are we at the same college? Because I saw two guys doing that this afternoon!

Maybe it was suggested in FHM or something.

Given that your location is oregon that isn’t likely lol.

AHA! Google says it’s part of P90x.

A variation is part of P90X, but in the video, your elbows are on the inside of your knees, isolating your biceps a bit more… Still a stupid exercise in my opinion… Why not just sit down on the fucking bench? There are much better ways to curl.

Did you get the correction about how your legs are too far apart? I got that one on Youtube. Toolbox apparently knew just enough about deadlifts to have an idea what they were but hadn’t heard of sumo. The ensuing mockery from other people prompted him to delete his comment.

I saw a girl at my gym the other day doing tricep push downs with the rope attachment… Nothing too awesome there except she was doing it while kneeling on one of the big bosu balls. It was awesome. I hung around to watch her next set and she actually hopped up on there with both knees. It was impressive. Oh and she was hot… Really nice body so I guess it was working

So what exercise HASN’T been done on a bosu ball now? Deadlifts? Someone is bound to some RDL’s on one of those things next…mark my words!

I repped some bosu ball stiff-legged DLs the other day.
You should’ve been there… it was epic.

On the full ball? Or on the little half ball thing that has a board on one side?

It might sound dumb but I like to do my cable flies with my knees on one of those half bosu ball things that are flat on one side. It makes you balance so it pretty much isolates your pecs, and you can’t use body language to move the weight. I don’t know how well it would work for tricep extensions though.

That half ball thing is for pussies.
I use the full ball for all the main lifts.

Think about it man…lack of balance =/= better isolation. The very fact that you have to pay attention to more things when performing the exercise generally means you’re isolating the muscle less efficiently. It doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a BAD exercise, but doing them on a stable surface would certainly allow for greater focus on the target muscle, chest in this case.

My thoughts exactly…it’s this passive aggressive stance that people take in life that causes so many mis-communications and problems that could’ve been easily avoided if someone had simply said something from the start. “I need you to move a bit, you’re too close to where I’m doing rows and I don’t want either of us to get hurt”, or some shit like that.
