I’ve been trying to be more tolerant of people in the workout room. This site doesnt help me much in that regard. But I dont give a flying fuck cause TMUSCLE is awesome.

So here I am slappin A5-35 on my legs, been hydrating all day, pumped up and buzzing off my can of SPIKE. Its MOTHER FUCKIN LEG DAY BITCHES!!!

Enter the gym. 2 steps in I’m greeted by the site of this one guy Mike (talked a few times before) well Mike is doing curls in the power cage. The one and only place to do squats at me gym. With the most naked looking bar I’ve ever seen. I’m in disbelief I thought this was a myth. Something perpetuated by you interwebz savy loners to amuse your selves with. Most sincere apologies. (bows head).

I ask Mike “what are doing?” he tells me he is working out his biceps. “but your in the squat rack…(my face clearly showing my incomprehension)” he starts looking a little cocky now. “look, I’m going over here to stretch then I’m going to do my squats in here ok?”

He ended up leaving the gym before I was done stretching.

Score one for the anti-squat rack curlers.

fucken eh!
I’ll never understand why people continue to curl in squat racks. So damn inconsiderate. Looks like you had a win here! Great video btw, I want to punch that kid in the face.

That’s right!

There are a few ways to work the upper traps: deadlifts, barbell shurgs, dumbbell shrugs, etc. Or, you can do as I saw in my gym today: Stand on the seat of a Lifefitness seated shoulder press machine, then lift the handles and do a shrug.

I have no idea why this man thought that was the best way to do shrugs. The gym was fairly empty-- and so there were lots of bb and dbs available. Even the cable machine was available.
I see that all the time at my gym. However, in defense of the really huge guys that are doing them, our dumbells only go up to 110, and since it’s an iso machine, I guess what ever works.

Well today at the gym i saw a guy doing some standing alternating db overhead presses with a toothpick in his mouth. That made me chuckle a little.

In the last week I saw one guy
do bodyweight squats in the squat rack on a swiss ball
and
do shadowboxing with 5 lb dumbbells on the swiss ball.
but before those he was doing some clean and presses.

And, just yesterday I saw some guy doing curls on a bosu ball.

i was on the leg press, in the middle of a set, and some HUGE guy comes over and pulls on the weight making it way harder for me, laughs, and walks away.

Bahwabahaha

It looks like the EMT’s are hard at work on the Dumbbell while the kid is leaning against the bench, ignored.

Just curious what we would have to say about doing those partial curls that Thib does in his experimental arm workout vid on the front page. Squat rack curls 'cept cool. (power cage).

This past winter I watched a female PT at the local YMCA have one of her clients do DB squats on a bosu ball.NO big deal. The she tells Her client ok lets do deadlifts now.Guess what the PT’s idea of a dead lift was?
DB squats wothout the ball.By the way it was still the same 1/4 squat ROM.What made it more funny was during this I was unloading a bar in the rack and damn near dropped a plate on my foot because of the stupid shit I was seeing.Another 2 inches and i would have broke my Big toe.

WTF?

Yesterday a guy in my gym hung a pair of olympic hoops over the squat cage and started doing acrobatics.

I was lying on the bench about to get a set in when a 65 year old guy walks over to the bench to grab one of the 5 lb plates from the side of the bench. He gets the weight and walks away. I start to bench, struggling considerably to get the left side up compared to the right. I finish the set and go to ramp up the weight. when I check the left side of the barbell I notice this old man had added a 10 lb plate to the left side of the barbell. Guy could have gotten me seriously injured if I was closer to my 1RM. My left arm and shoulder hurt the rest of the day.

I think I was…deadlifting, and these guys took the rack in front of me and set the pins kinda high and then put down a yoga mat, and I was like, “cool, these guys are doing lockouts, haven’t seen that in a while.” Turns out what they were doing was some kind of alternating leg raises while holding up 135. Sigh.

And then you informed him of his stupidity, so that it doesn’t continue and eventually get someone injured ?
