Squat Programming After Injury Recovery

Hey guys/gals, I injured my knee in April while squatting, went through all the necessary physio and such to get it back in working order. 4 months later, I have NO CLUE how to approach getting it back on par with my other lifts. I’ve corrected my form and warm-up routine to ensure it doesn’t get injured again, and so far this week, I’ve been squatting pain free. I got my squat up to around 275 back in April before I injured it, and now I’m at a loss for how to regain the strength I built four months ago. I’ve lost about 50lbs on my squat, seeing how I can pump out 195 for around 5-6 reps now, that puts my max at 2 plates. How should I go about getting it back?

Just for some context as to how far behind it is now, I bench around 255 and pull 500. So it’s becoming a serious problem, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Why not do what you did to get to the 275 squat? Just start at a lower point to allow yourself enough time to recover and start pushing harder in a month or two. It shouldn’t take that long to get back to old strength levels. It’s more important to reduce chances of injury again.
