Padding makes Jesus cry at night.
Not doing squats at all makes Jesus cry even more. Its actually not for me…some sort of pad is the only way I can get my wife to do squats. I figure this looked like a pretty good one since it forces you to hold the handles up…hence forcing you to keep your chest up and out.
GOOD LORD…I dont need this sort of pad enough to spend that kind of money though. I’ll just wrap a towel around the bar for her.

The safety squat bar sits differently and works your back muscles much harder. Essentially you have to fight very hard against it trying to bend you in half, resulting in lowered weight compared to straight bar. If your wife doesn’t like squats anyway, this wont help in the least.
It is a safety squat “bar” in the picture that has pads on it. You can buy foam pipe insulation at Home Depot for a buck. Replace when it gets smashed up.
Yeah…I read about it now that I know what its called. Sounds like it was never a good option like I initially though.
