Doggie door?
Congratulations - beating yourself is really much better than beating someone else. So I’m told.

It sounds like a hard fought battle but you left what you came for. Congratulations.
How are you feeling today?
The work party was more fun than expected, and the coach actually showed up. I made the mistake of giving my husband all my play money, and he donated it to some chick. Men.

I’m pretty sore, back, triceps, ass, and quads.

I’m actually feeling hung over and like shit today too. I didn’t get in until 1 am. Mostly I’m feeling a bit of an anticlimax at the moment and thinking about all the work I need to do to catch up with the people I want to catch.
Nicely done!
I thinks I owe you some MS paint pics. Peeing and puking deadlift FTW!
Well done, sounds a bit like my recent first meet except for the sweating and spitting bit. Similar lifts too!

That’s an amazing likeness!
On another note, how come you never post any fun pictures in my log A_K? I’m kind of hurt right now.
Congrats on nationals! Hopefully you won’t have to go through that again to make weight. Sounds like it took a little out of you.
Did you at least have good beer at the party?

I had to twist his arm to get that picture, and he loaded the bar unevenly. A girl can get hurt that way.
Only video we got was my squat:
AV, the beer was good, but I was pretty gone after three. I had to have some Czech beer after we ran out of the local stuff. I ended up walking around downtown Denver barefoot, before falling asleep in the cab on the way home.
Great video. What location was the meet at? Did the lift feel tough? The whole weight shambles would have totally thrown me off. Do you do any mental/visualisation stuff before lifting? Am I asking enough questions? Seriously though, my mental state is a big thing for me.

The meet was held at the Rocky Mountain Lifting Club, the powerlifting gym here in Denver where I train occasionally. It’s nice to have a meet within 30 minutes of home.
Everything felt tough. The warmups were okay, but I just kinda had that jelly feeling in my arms and legs until I got to deadlifting, when I was starting to feel back to normal. The weight thing did throw me off for my second attempts for sure. I was like I knew I had no option but to make my first attempts, and then I could wuss out on the second and third.
I try to do some visualization - put myself to sleep planning my lifts - but my pessimist often comes through and helps me visualize falling over in a deadlift, or dropping the bar on my neck.
I got a size smaller deadlifting suit that arrived yesterday, so that should be good. The one I wore was loose enough I could put it on in 30 seconds and put all my fingers up the thighs. The new one is TIGHT, but we managed to get it on and get the straps up, although the crotch wasn’t set right. I’ll probably need 700 lbs on my back if I want to try to squat in it.
A tighter suit will also keep me honest with my nutrition, so no more weight fiascos!
Good video. Have you ever had to cut weight before? (sorry if that is a naive question)
They ised to have a warehouse type building in downtown Denver that had a bunch of bars in it, I think it was called the Tivoli(sp) or something like that. Is it still there? Was a fun place.

I think that’s the DU student union now. I’ve never been there.
I’ve cut weight before, but this was definitely the most difficult. I don’t remember how much I had to cut for Raw Nationals, but that was the second most difficult. I thought it was easier because I was in a hotel and had unlimited hot water. The bathrooms in my house are too big to get a good steam going on, so I had to try using my gym’s sauna and it wasn’t as effective, I think. I’m still learning the finer points of self-abuse.

You have a training log? I almost never visit that forum for fear of “V-Diet + Oreos: Help, not getting the results I want”.
I’ll have to check it out though. But if you can lift more than I can, the pics are just going to be me peeing on you.

Lol, the self abuse never ends. Look forward to see your next training posts.
sorry for all your frustration…now you know better! It was a learning experience for you, so now you just have to make sure you learn!
Question though…had you not been keeping a very close eye on your weight before the meet? I guess the training aspect came first, huh? Dieting and cardio sucks, so I feel your pain there lol…I’m still trying to ‘make weight.’
Good work on making your lifts though!!

I kept an eye on it, but I tend to overestimate the amount of weight I can lose from “walking around” to “weighing in.” I really shouldn’t get more than two or three pounds from my weigh in weight, life would be much easier that way.
