Good Luck! Thanks for being so inspiring! =D
Good luck this weekend. Would love to see your weekly template if you don’t mind posting it.
Thanks guys! We’ve decided that I’m going to be 165 tomorrow (actually, 165.2, not sure why that extra .2 makes it seem so much easier, lol). I am 168.4 this morning, and that is fully hydrated and fed. I should be okay, but I do want to have something amputated so I never have to worry about making weight again.
Buddy - my weekly template? I generally lift on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with two days of heavy benching/squatting/deadlifting and two days of assistance stuff. I add cardio in if I’m feeling particularly saucy, but I really hate it.
Mostly, I stumble into work and check my email to see what the coach has assigned. I usually keep my workouts in a paper log, but have been using my phone lately, which works out really well when taking pictures of strangers at the gym.
Is it tomorrow already?! We’ll be ‘pulling’ for you!

Thanks. Good luck with the meet. What is your plan for cutting the last few pounds?

My food today is light weight and calorie dense, and I stopped drinking water (after drinking 2+ gallons per day every day this week) this morning.
I will drop some just with respiration and whatever natural things happen in the bathroom. Depending on where I am, I will take a hot bath, a hot bath with the shower running, eat a lemon, spit, whatever.
I am very paranoid about weight and won’t be able to sleep if I am not there, so I will probably weigh in under, unless I say “fuckit” and move to the 181s.
Lunch looked amazing, see picture. I nibbled at the salad because the chicken was covered in alfredo sauce. Fortunately, the dessert was just apple pie that didn’t look very good.

Dam, I wish i could eat like that the day before weigh in…lol. I have had good luck with the 2 gallons of water then cut down to 1 liter day before. I’ll be interested to know how the lemon works if you try it. I heard it works well?
Good Luck!
Well, 90 minutes before weighins and I’m still 1.5 lbs over. I’ve spat, bathed, sweated, walked, lemoned, and everything else I can think of. Two hours in and out of the sauna last night netted me…one measly pound.
Spent most of the night dealing with non-meet related shit, didn’t get nearly enough sleep. Not the ideal way to prep for what I want to be the best meet of my life.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
man, that sucks… ![]()

So how did it go? ![]()
The meet wasn’t ideal, but I did end up making weight and qualifying for Nationals.
I got there at 7:45, checked myself on the meet scale and was 1/2 kilogram over (just over a pound). I was beat down and ready to accept a crappy 181, but the coach made me get on the treadmill, put on three or four sweatshirts and a hat, and start walking on the treadmill and spitting. At 8:30, I tried my first official weigh in - 75.3 kilos (I need 75.0). Crap.
More walking and the elliptical, at 9:00 I tried again and got 75.04. Yeah, seriously. 4/100 too high.
Walked and spat more, went in at 9:25 (had to make weight by 9:30). Got buck naked, stood on my head for 30 seconds, hopped on the scale - 74.9. Made it.
Of course, I was beat. Shaking, beat. I drank a crap ton of water and got started warming up squats. Fortunately, while I was in the first flight, I was the last lifter (lifters go in order of weight attempts).
My first squat was 314 and change. A bit of a struggle, but I got it. Second and third were attempts at 330. Made the second one, but got redlighted for depth. Missed the third. Everything felt SO heavy. ![]()
Benching, warmed up to 185 and felt good. First bench, 187, good. Second and third at 198, no good.
Deadlift, first attempt at 314 was good, and qualified me for Nationals. Second at 336 was great, but by that point I’d been informed that I would be “randomly” tested for drugs, and needed to drink water so I could pee.
I decided not to attempt a third DL so I could drink water for peeing and not puke on the platform (which is my signature move).
So, I qualified, won my class (har har, me v. no one), and struggled through a crappy day, and made my #1 goal.
Time for beer, football, and shindigging with the work crew. If my coach isn’t there, I’m going to kick him.
YAY! You qualified! You had to go through hell to get there… but you did it! Good Job!!!
I have been checking since I got home from work to see what happened. I am so happy that you made it! Congrats!
Congrats on qualifying for nationals. It sounds like a tough day but you still made your goal ![]()
Claire
Sounds like a tough one, but you pulled through, congrats!
Sounds a bit more rough than Ouroboro’s day, but glad you pulled through and qualified!
I hope to hell I’m not spitting, treadmilling and sweating to make weight come January…ugh.
It sounds like a hard fought battle but you left what you came for. Congratulations.
How are you feeling today?

The work party was more fun than expected, and the coach actually showed up. I made the mistake of giving my husband all my play money, and he donated it to some chick. Men.
You might say I’m a bit hungover. I overslept my dog’s usual morning potty time and she pooped all over the floor. Yay.

I’m pretty sore, back, triceps, ass, and quads.
congratulations on qualifying!! hopefully that’ll be the last time making weight is such a bitch. great job!
