7/3: Baby squat workout, only made it up to 275 with straps and belt; felt fat and shitty, so I left. I couldn’t get my suit seated right and couldn’t even put my straps up, with my husband there to help. Whatever. Yay.
7/4: Shovel rock for 2-3 hours. Yay. For me, this hits my arms and whatnot more than my back. I am glad for that. My elbows were kind of fucked for squatting today, tho. Liniment and knee sleeves on the arms helps.
Today: Squats, equipped, up to a single at 395. YAY. 20lb PR, and it was easy, wrapped my own knees relatively loose - I didn’t roll the wraps tight before I wrapped them, and just used the wrapping as the time to stretch the wraps. I also put my straps up alone, using the Smith machine.
I am certain it was high, since I didn’t have my camera at the gym - doh. I know it was lower than the 335 and 375 I did before it, but I really need a camera and a knee wrapper at the gym. Hubby’s promised to do mini meets with me every weekend before the Pan Ams.
Depth and the shirt - always my issues! Fortunately, I won’t be having to lose weight and cut, so I will know how my gear will feel before the comp. My 40 f6 is so tight at this weight I think I will get a 38 f6 when I am back to my normal comp weight.
Malinda, will Jim wrap and strap me? I’m so excited for this meet, but as always, terrified of bombing.
You will have someone there to wrap and strap you – I promise ;-).

You rock, PMPM!!! Where’s a camera when you need it?!?!

I"m so pleased for you for your squats. Are you still walking around on air? I do for a few days after I hit a new PR.
When’s Miami?
August 6. Unfortunately, I can’t stay later during the week to watch the big boys lift…but I’m just excited to go.
I would be walking on air if I’d gotten it on video and was certain that it was deep enough. I was just glad to have a good session after the shit session the Friday before… Nothing was fitting right, I felt shitty, etc. I hate those kind of days.
After I got the 395, I sat on the safety bar in the cage and shook for several minutes. Fried!
Not sure if I will deadlift or bench tonight. I’m wary of benching since my elbow is a bit tender, but I’m not sure about DLing the day after a heavy squat. I guess it will depend on whether I can get my husband to join me to shirt me up.
Anyway, I’m rambling. I think I need to go eat something!

Holy Shit!
Congrats! You’ve just surpassed like 95% of the nanny-boyz on this whole website!
Deadlifted yesterday. I didn’t even make 365. I think I jumped from 315 to 365 and it was too big. I need to start thinking about openers. If I make PRs in all my lifts, that should put me at second.

Squats were high, but things are coming together. The bench was much better than last time. Deadlift sucks monkey balls, but I did the entire mini-meet in under 2 hours, with few carbs and calories in me.
Right now I feel like my larger suit is too big, but I think the smaller suit will be too small. I am going to work on it a bit and see what I can do.

I was just looking at my planned attempts for nationals last feb as a 165 lifter. I am solidly up a weight class. My squat opener is like, 40 higher and my bench opener is 20 higher. My dead opener is the same. WTF. I really think the pull throughs will help, they felt great.
The crossfit was four rounds of 10 power cleans, 10 pullups, 20 situps, row 500 meters. I did it because it looked easy. I sweated a bunch, but it wasn’t all that taxing. I was pretty slow, tho.
Yesterday, I drove to SD with a friend of mine to see Mt. Rushmore. I had an interview today with a place that I kinda hope doesn’t like me - I’m a little worried about getting the job. It seems similar to my first firm, which was a complete evil shithole. I really don’t want to end up in another shitty place - I just want to find a place where I can work forever. Ugh. I can’t keep waiting a year for matching 401(k)s and shit.
