Also, fwiw, in a comp you would have pulled 385 because you would have stuck it out through the shaking. That weight flew off the floor!
Yeah, I’m getting a lot of pop out of the suit, so it looks like I need to do some work at the upper range of the pull. There was a little old lady staring at me for the singles -I’d helped her change a cable handle earlier - and I think she was scared I was going to kill myself.
Right now I’m in my bigger suit, which I can put on alone. I’m not sure what suit I’ll wear for competition - maybe the smaller suit for squats and the bigger for deads? I don’t know if I can get down to the bar in the smaller suit at this higher weight. I am really interested to see my wider stance in equipment. A narrower stance seems to help me break the bar raw, but that isn’t an issue equipped - the issue is getting down before I lose my air.
Court, I think you’re right about making that in comp. In addition, I would be powdered in comp so that would help too. Maybe I should ditch the shorts (ouroboro thought they were my ripcord…dork), but I feel pretty self conscious in my commercial gym…

The rest of the gym goers are going to stare regardless of whether you’re wearing shorts over it or not. You’re a hot (no lesbo) female moving tons of weight and you’re wearing some sort of weird contraption. Just because you’ve got shorts on doesn’t mean they can’t tell you’re wearing something weird lol.
I’m having issues getting to the bar before I lose my air myself in this smaller suit. I also find I can’t get as much air as I would like even though my belt is on as loose as it can go. When I was pulling in my bigger suit I would pull myself down into the bar and pause for a second before pulling. This one, as soon as I get into the right position, I start yanking because otherwise I’ll lose the pop off the floor. Oh equipment. I love it ![]()

Fuck 'em if they stare. They should stare for what you are pulling and pushing. How’s the bench progressing? Everthing else looks like you are going to break PRs in a meet.
I haven’t been fortunate enough to have a bench assistant. I know my raw strength is great, but I hate the shirt. I am worried about getting re-acquainted with it before the PamAms.

Wasn’t really feelin’ it. I wanted to do back but refrained as I knew I was going to climb with Ali today.
Ali, my friend who just bought out a gym, including hammer strength, cable stuff, smiths, multiple bars, etc. -15k worth of stuff - for 2k. Bitch.
Anyway, climbed a couple hours and then the chiro. I fascinate the chiro. She thinks I have a tight psoas and too much external rotation in my hips, not enough internal. It is interesting how my strength changes depending on whether my hip has been twisted in or out before the stress is placed on it. For the most part, I’m strong enough she can figure out where my weaknesses are. I giggle and love it.
Long story short - more stretching, narrow the raw stances, and no more sexing! Okay, I made up that last bit. But I am making an active effort not to sit with my left hip externally rotated, which is a very bad habit of mine.
Tomorrow: ME squats!

7/3: Baby squat workout, only made it up to 275 with straps and belt; felt fat and shitty, so I left. I couldn’t get my suit seated right and couldn’t even put my straps up, with my husband there to help. Whatever. Yay.
7/4: Shovel rock for 2-3 hours. Yay. For me, this hits my arms and whatnot more than my back. I am glad for that. My elbows were kind of fucked for squatting today, tho. Liniment and knee sleeves on the arms helps.
Today: Squats, equipped, up to a single at 395. YAY. 20lb PR, and it was easy, wrapped my own knees relatively loose - I didn’t roll the wraps tight before I wrapped them, and just used the wrapping as the time to stretch the wraps. I also put my straps up alone, using the Smith machine. I am certain it was high, since I didn’t have my camera at the gym - doh. I know it was lower than the 335 and 375 I did before it, but I really need a camera and a knee wrapper at the gym. Hubby’s promised to do mini meets with me every weekend before the Pan Ams.
Depth and the shirt - always my issues! Fortunately, I won’t be having to lose weight and cut, so I will know how my gear will feel before the comp. My 40 f6 is so tight at this weight I think I will get a 38 f6 when I am back to my normal comp weight.
Malinda, will Jim wrap and strap me? I’m so excited for this meet, but as always, terrified of bombing.
