Spin the Black Circle

Sorry about the job – that’s lousy luck. Hope something comes up quickly.

I got laid off yesterday.

Wow! I’m sorry to hear that. I guess this explains why I haven’t seen you on IM in a while.

PMPM - I know I am a little late to the party… but I am sorry to hear what happened… these are kind of scary times!

Hope things work out for you! Keep us updated!

Post more pictures if you can get them. Of your coach. Although pictures of your ear would be nice too

Glad to hear you’re feeling better.

This is the only other picture I have of him, although I could probably get some from his wife. It’s from the 2005 Master’s Nats, I think? Firebug can probably confirm/deny.

I save my ear pictures for the very, VERY special.

I think that is right. But after a while they kind of all run together, especially if your not lifting ;-). Ron had a great weekend lifting! Along with many others.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck…gives ya more time to train tho

Thanks again for the good thoughts. I start to think I’m handling this pretty well, and then I realize some aspect of my behavior is completely messed up and that indicates there is something deeply wrong with me.

I preferred sprints to squats today. WTF???

I benched today, up to 155, but my shoulder was a little tender so I wandered over to the cage. Squatted up to three singles at 255, but again, I just wasn’t feeling it.

So, 20 minutes of hill sprints, outdoors, delightful, hot, sunny, pukey, amazing.

Now it is time to switch into my apron, pearl necklace, and heels.

Wow… you have serious mental issues. Sprints over squats? You should go to the doctor…

You do realise you can be involuntarily committed for that sort of crappola right?

I can see how sprints would appeal. Sometime I get on my bike and just go balls out as fast as I can. It’s pure escapism and the speed feels good.

Agreed! Sprints are fun! That’s why I like to do them once or twice a week. There’s something primal about running as fast as you can.

Today:

Crap ton of stretching and foam rolling.

Deadlifts 2x6x135, 3x225, 1x275, 1x295, 2x0x315 (meh, worth a shot)

Sumo SLDLs 5x6x135

Overhead squats 2x6x45, 6x65, 4x95, 2x6x65

Tonight, dog walking.

I forgot to mention AV, sprints + LoG, Ektomorf, etc = WIN!

Girl it’s unfortunate that you have this much free time on your hands now. Good to see your making the best of it with the great weather we’ve been having!

Spent about four hours doing yardwork yesterday.

This is what happens when Lindsay is left to put sunscreen on herself. It’s worse now. I look like a red and white zebra. Oops.

Ouch! I have fair skin and burn easily; I have actually had second degree burns from the sun. Of course that involved a bottle of tequila, a bikini, a 19th bday (when that was the legal drinking age) and drunken sunbathing at 6000 feet above sea level. Ah, the follies of youth…

Get some aloe vera on that burn!

I’ll second the aloe vera. I got second degree burns on my face and neck when I was 14. My 16 year old sister got a sun lamp, showed it to me and said I couldn’t use it. So what was the logical thing to do? Yup. Use it until you’re cooked. I spent the summer with scabs on my face.

You’re back looks great pmpm.

I’m a little late, but I’m sorry to hear that! I hope it’s for a reason and something better comes your way!

Looks like you need to work on that flexibility…

hope it gets better soon.

bump

EXCELLENT bump, Doug!

I spent the morning trying to apply for unemployment - the website crashed constantly. VERY annoying. Then, I headed over to the gym. I REALLY dig the whole empty-gym-afternoon thing.

Deadlifts, working on the hips: 6x135, 3x225, 3x275, 1x295, 3x5x185

Squats: 8x135 (hips didn’t hurt!!!), 3x185, 3x225, 3x245, 3x1x275 (cut the first two a little high; third one was sunk deep)

Kroc Rows: 10x80, 10x85, 10x90

Dips +35: 4x10

Weighted planks: 4x30 seconds +80

How are you weighting your planks?

[quote]rcfromdb wrote:

I take a 35 and 45 lb plate, lay them on their ends next to my hip, and just kinda twist them on. I suppose I could ask for help, but that would involve talking to strangers…
