Nice pulls! Do you pull Sumo when you compete?
Yeppers. I have tried conventional, but I just can’t seem to do it right. I am much more comfortable with my legs spread.
Fixed it for ya honey.
I’m surprised you took the high road and didn’t call her a cheater. :P
I can’t call her a cheater because I’ll be wearing my cheater gear to deadlift in tonight. That would just make me a hypocrite. Now, you can call me a lot of things, but hypocrite isn’t one of them.

No guys, I’m referring to the Sumo being the ‘cheater pull’.
That’s why I do it.
It’s only a cheater pull if you’re male.
Yeah, because I have an extra place to rack the bar between reps if I get tired.
Pics or it didn’t happen!
Tonight:
Just kind of played around. Squatted in full raw gear up to five singles at 245, my planned opener for my next meet. I took videos of these to make sure I am hitting depth. I’m not sinking them, but I am legal.
Benched up to five singles at 155; we’ll see if I open here or at 150.
Tried some light deadlifts using marudermeat’s hip thrust advice, but the hips were hurting again by this point. I think I got it a few reps, but it definitely hurt the hips more than the raise-the-butt-cave-the-knees method.
Finally, did five sets of six dips, with +25 lbs on my new dipping belt. I love it! I tried doing a pullup with the +25…no dice. Hahah!!
I don’t do yoga, I was going to go with an old coworker to play around with it (hadn’t done it since law school), but I ditched it because I didn’t want to drive downtown in 6" of slush.
I need to do more stuff for my hips. If I am going to lift raw, I have to take better care of them. I do stretching and foam rolling now, but not enough.
Anyone have any advice?
Today: Back
Kroc Rows: 10x70, 10x75, 10x80 per side (yes, I want to be Molly)
Rack pulls from knee, conventional stance: 6x135, 3x6x225
face pulls: 5x8x36
Lat pulldowns: 10x84, 4x6x96
Hypers: 3x10 holding a 35
Planned to give blood today, but my husband got home from a multi-day work thing earlier than anticipated. I’ll donate tomorrow.

hurdle drills, eric cressy wrote something about them once, they help a lot. More foam rolling and more sex in the right positions.

So, tell, please, which positions would that be? Because, ya know, dedicated newbie that I am, I would do ANYTHING to improve my lifting…perhaps this is something I should pass on to my trainer and we can add it to our training sessions…
Free2Be, you could perhaps make some instructional videos for Chrysalis. Don’t hesitate to forward copies to me.
Today: Boring Cardio.
Anne decided to get rid of Lady Eleanor because Eleanor was banging Henry VIII while Anne was laid up with childbirth stuff. For those who are interested, Princess Elizabeth is healthy, happy, and unfortunately, female.

Depending on your personal situation, that could just mean into either your left or your right hand.

That is my situation exactly and I use both hands, but not at once.
PMPM and Chry…
So you want vid’s of the hurdle drills?
How about personal instruction on the sexual positions?
Well, I have a strict agreement with my trainer that all things regarding lifting are his purvue so I would have to run this suggestion through him…besides, for personal instruction I am afraid you would have to travel to the wild of Montana. Of course, I live only an hour away from the infamous Push and Meesus Push, so perhaps it would be worth your while to come down here and hold a clinic in your hip flexibility methods.
Hm. I am thinking this portion of the thread perhaps should be moving to SAMA…
