Well, last night was supposed to be benching with the shirt, negatives with around 200. We did it at home, because I am not strong enough (yet) to drag hubby to the gym against his will.

It didn’t go so well.

I warmed up just fine, put the shirt on, tried 175, and could barely unlock my elbows. We worked on the shirt more to try to get it higher up my arms and deeper into my armpits, and went for 205. Still couldn’t touch, and smashed my hand against the bench holder thing re-racking the weight.

Back when we were young and foolish we bought a bench set that is narrow, rather than wide. Not an issue if you’re just benching for fun, but the width is such that I can’t even use my normal grip width without smacking my hands up.

Anyway, couldn’t touch with 205, and I need to work on getting the shirt on without the coach around. Very frustrating workout, if you can call it that.

Did you get a new shirt or something? I feel your pain at any rate.

It’s the 40 F6, I wore it for one attempt at my last meet and touched with 198, but I just need to learn (along with the hubby) how to get it on me right. Pretty pissed about the workout, but I have a cold too so I am extra cranky.

I might break down and buy a 42 F6 for training, and use the 40 as I get closer to meets? I’ll have to ask the coach. I really do like the F6.

And I just made Christmas candy and have to go to a neighbor’s party. I hope I don’t get them all sick.

Squats and DL today, full equipment.

Worked up to two sets of three at 300 for squats, and two sets of three at 365 for reverse band deadlifts. Everything felt pretty good, but I am still a little bit weak. I used the 48 DL suit rather than the 46, but I have been working on getting into the 46 and getting down in it. It should be a good purchase.

You may has stated somewhere but I’m far too lazy to go back and look; what do you squat in?

Right now I squat in a Metal King sumo DL suit. The 48 is too loose, the 46 is super tight. I LOVE it, but I am ordering a Centurion NXG Super+ Custom squat suit. We can’t really find squat suits that fit my legs - big old thighs - but the Metal DL suit has bigger quads so I can wear it off the rack.

I just ordered a stock Centurion because the owner has measurements similar to mine and she can handle a stock suit. If she can, I can! Plus, it’s cheaper (so I got another pair of knee wraps) and it will get here faster.

Tuesday’s workout:

I did a full body, because my gym closes early today and I don’t want to worry about getting there early enough.

Clap pushups - these felt great. I did a lot of pec/shoulder stretching with the bands and broomstick before and between sets, and I think that is a good idea. 7, 7, 8, 6.

Band pistol squats - using the blue/medium band: 7, 6, 6, 6.

Back extension with 35lbs - 5 sets of 7

Lat pulldowns - 10x108, 2x10x96

Bent over lateral raises - 10x12.5 10x15 10x12.5

Alternating DB curls - 2x9x27.5lbs

Triceps pushdowns - 3x10x72

Side bends - 3x10x70

Single leg calf press - 25, 25, 20, 20, 10

Incline crunches - 5x10 with 10lb plate

Good workout. I might do some sprinting or something today, but we will be going heavy this weekend so we’ll see how the booty feels after those pistol squats.

Great looking workout! Have a good holiday! =D

Well, I slipped going down the stairs yesterday and think I tweaked my MCL a little bit. I didn’t feel any sharp pain or anything, it just swelled a bit and has been getting stiff. It doesn’t hurt to do the squat or DL movements, but any twisting hurts. I’m icing it. Hubby isn’t overly concerned, and he’s the King of Knee Injuries.

In other news, I got Rock Band 2 and all the accessories. I was up until three a.m. last night singing and playing guitar for Alice in Chains and the Grateful Dead.

Saturday, I was supposed to squat heavy but decided not to do squat movements.

Deadlifting:
5x135, 5x225, 2x315 (belt and suit), 1x365

Raw lockout bench, 18 pin
5x115, 5x135, 5x155, 5x175
17 pin
5x185, 5x205, 5x225

Close grip bench
5x5x95

Glute Ham raise
5 sets of 8

Raw pullups - 3 sets of 3

Goodmornings
8x95, 3x8x115

Hanging leg lifts
3x10

Sunday:
22 minutes on arc, moderate for 40 seconds, sprint for 20 seconds; 3 minutes cool down moderate

Lots of shoulder stretching.

Knee feels okay, swelling is down, but it was a little sore after my deadlifting yesterday. Moving the bar from the 18 pin to the 17 pin, I squatted the bar up to the hooks and then back down to the higher pin, and it was sore, so I am definitely not squatting heavy this week.

I didn’t sleep at all last night because I had “Cool for Cats” stuck in my head. It’s still there. I might have to stick a letter opener in my brain.

I got Rock Band 2 as well, “Float On” was my nemesis all morning this morning.

Well you only have to wait until March for “Ten”.

I’ve already unlocked “Alive.” Drum lessons are welcomed.

That made me pee a little. That is hilarious. Kinda gross, but absolutely hilarious.

Can you imagine being the loaders…I think they were fighting over whose turn it was…

She is awesome, it didn’t seem to bother her at all, just waited for the white lights. Although I would have asked for some paper towels at least.

That is awesome.

Sadly, I bet FTG wouldn’t find it feminine

I saw your favorite DL socks on sale at Target today, they actually had all kinds of knee high socks on sale, it was great!

Max bench.

5x95, 3x115, 1x135 (raw), 1x185 (shirted, an inch high), 1x205 (touch, pause, PR), 5x135 (raw).

Got the shirt all the way on and seated properly. Could probably go above 205, but I was hungry.

Pulldowns - 2x11x96

Barbell overhead press - 2x12x65

barbell rows - 2x8x135

Tri extension on floor - 2x11x20s

Squats:
2x5x135 raw
3x225 belt open, suit
2x315 belt open, suit, knees
1x340 belt open, suit, knees. Squat was high. I’m feeling a little tentative still.
Power curtsies - 14 pin
3x405 belt open, suit, knees
2x3x405 belt closed, suit, no knees, bottom start

Deads:
2x5x135 raw, suit bottom
3x225 raw, suit bottom
6 (7? lost count) singles at 315, suit straps up and belt closed

Good mornings
3x8x135

Arc trainer - 20 minutes moderate intensity
