Got the shirt all the way on and seated properly. Could probably go above 205, but I was hungry.

I’m so envious. Not because you’re hungry. That would be weird. Congrats on the 205.
I finally tried out my new, larger shirt for the first time. I only tried 125. I officially suck but you rock ![]()

Everybody wish my coach happy birthday! He’s 48 today. The handsome, charming, intelligent, and ferociously strong Ron Garofalo!

Kiss ass.
Happy belated Ron.

If I don’t kiss his ass, he will put me in a bench shirt and leave me there until my arms fall off. And then his wife will come and talk to me about fingernail polish colors…she likes to mock me. ![]()
Knee’s feeling good. Sometimes it still feels a little “different” when I’m doing things that aren’t good for your knees, like walking down stairs in high heels. It was fine when I squatted the other day. It isn’t sore or anything now, so I’m just keeping a close eye on it and being careful. No more walking down the stairs in socks!

Do your coach post his workouts on this site?

Nope, he just lurks and reads my workouts so he can figure out what to make me do next.
I don’t think he actually works out. He’s kind of weak, if you couldn’t tell from that picture.
I just found out that my best friend, who is pregnant and due in April, will be prematurely delivering the baby in the next couple of days.
He doesn’t have lungs, and won’t survive.
This shit sucks.
wow…I’m sorry for your friend and family… Do you mean his lungs are not fully developed yet?

Things aren’t where they are supposed to be, and there is no room for his lungs. I’m not sure exactly what is happening, but I know that this sucks.

I’m very sorry for your friend. This is the hardest thing she will ever have to go through and it will be hard. My thoughts are with her.

x2. Sorry to hear this. Stay strong for her.
My thoughts are with your friend.
Thanks, y’all. It is just heartbreaking. We have several pregnant/freshly delivered friends, and about half of them were “oh! What a surprise” pregnancies. My friend has been trying for a year.
Any advice you might have re: things I can do to help is also appreciated. If you couldn’t tell, I’m not so good with these emotional things.
Anyway. Workouts, Tuesday and Wednesday:
DB bench 2x18x40s
band pullups: 2x9 with blue tube
seated db presses: 2x8x35s
cable/seated rows: 2x15x84
tri pushdowns: 3x10x72
concentration curls: 2x9x25s
Weighted plank 50 lbs.x1:00x1 (could go heavier or do more sets)
leg extension: 3x20x60, 2x20x50
lunges: 3x15 steps/leg with 30 lb DBs (and my booty hurts now)
GHRs: 6x6
single-leg calf raises: 5x20/leg
back ext: no weight, 2x20
incline situps 5x10
Tonight is the BCS National Championship game, and will be my last cheat meal before Nationals. Boomer Sooner!

Just let her know you’re there for anything she needs. I doubt any words of encouragement or advice will be much help right now. Maybe in the future.
And go Sooners.
Well, let’s see, where have I been?
Heavy work out on Sunday, or at least an attempt at it.
Bench - I was supposed to go 200+ lbs in the shirt, singles, non paused, as many as possible. Didn’t get the shirt set right again. We’re trying it again tonight. We need to get used to putting the damned thing on!
Squats - 2 sets of 3 at 315. I wore the looser DL suit because, while we got the tighter DL suit on, we couldn’t get the suit slippers out so we couldn’t wrap my knees. Argh. I’ve also been trying to get the squat suit on, and I can get the body of it up over my booty, but I can’t really budge it from there. I’m buying a 44 suit off of Tim Henriques - he’s getting rid of old stuff. If it’s too big, I’ll just donate it to the coach’s gym.
I am teaching hubby how to wrap my knees. He’s, well, learning. ![]()
Deadlifting - 4x315, 3x2x315. I was supposed to do two sets of five at 315, but these were feeling heavy.
I finished with 30 hanging leg lifts. I’ll be re-trying the bench tonight, and I’ll also do some assistance type work.
Do you prefer training in gear or raw? I know you will need to be geared up for woman’s nats.
[quote]BuddyRich wrote:

That’s a good question. I started out raw and love it, and after training with gear the past few months, I feel like I’ve lost some confidence in my raw lifting. After Women’s Nationals I will probably do a lot more raw lifting to work on that (and maybe prepare for Raw Nationals).
I like how wraps and shirts/suits make me feel protected (esp. my shoulder, hip, and knees), but they can really add a lot of time to a workout, and they feel a little showy at my non-PL gym.
So, I guess I didn’t really answer your question. I really do like it both ways. Ha!

That’s the rumour I had heard about you ![]()
