Spidey: Back in Black

Lorez: You’re definitely right on just leaving it alone being the best solution, at least to prevent headaches. It’s still just frustrating knowing that’s out there.

Legs

Conventional DL’s: Used hook grip for as long as I could, so until only on heaviest sets did I use straps.
275x5
315x4
355x3
295x5
335x4
375x1

Front Squats:
205x2x6
185x2x6

GM’s:
165x4x8

Lunges:
40’sx3x8

Abs

So used the hook grip for as long as I could. It REALLY hurts, but my set-up is SO much tighter with it. The set of 375 felt SO much heavier with straps then 335 did with Hook grip. So I think 375x1 was a fluke, I should have easily gotten that for 3

Lats/Arms

A1: CGBP: Paused every rep
165x7
155x2x6

A2: Pull-ups: Dead Hang (mostly lol)
BWx3x10

B1: Dips: Paused, and holy eff they are like a different exercise lol
BWx3x8-10

B2: Straight Arm Pulldowns:
3x10

C1: Rope Pushdowns:
3x12

C2: Rope Curls:
3x15

D1: French Press:
55x3x15

D2: Incline Curls:
25’sx3x10

So I remembered I had a decent amount of success pausing all Tricep pressing when I did and Ed Coan program a long time ago. So I paused CGBP and DIps, because 1) Rapes my triceps 2) Forces me to stay tight all over, which is a problem I have with every lift, but most notably pressing. Triceps are already aching. Pausing also allows me to actively work on my leg drive, engage my lats, which is always good.

Was surprised workout was so good, had only about 3-4 hours or sleep. Went to Nashville last night for Halloween. Was really fun. My Bam Bam costume cost a total of about $20 dollars, and there were a TON of awesome costumes, but I literally got asked to take so many pictures with people lol. Like my friends I went with each go to Comic-Cons and stuff, so they spent $100+ on their costumes, and were so salty that my crappy costume got the most reception lol. I’ll throw some pics up later if ya’ll want.

Went in for legs today, and finally hit a wall. Went in, 275 on Squats felt heavy, SLDL’s with 185 was hard to even grip. So did cut my losses, did some bike sprints and left. Was feeling like I needed a deload, and this weekend was hectic enough to push me over the edge a bit. Will talk to Omar about it.

Also, here was my Bam Bam costume.

I literally did that exact same costume three Halloweens ago. I guess that makes up for me copying your Robin costume last year.

Really?!? It’s pretty odd that we seem to have a specific taste in Halloween costumes in common. What were you this year?

Pressing

Flat Bench: Heaviest set, glute cramped and ass came off the the Bench, so didn’t count that rep
155x6
175x4
195x2
165x6
185x4
205x1
165x8

Floor Press:
165x4
155x6
145x2x6

Seated DB Press: 60 seconds rest
55’sx8
50’sx8
45’sx8

Cuban Press:
25’sx3x10

Decline DB Extensions:
25’sx3x15

Cable Flies:
3x12

So today, it was just horribly difficult to make the weights move fast. Everything felt ‘easy’, because I feel like I’ve found my groove with my form when it comes to pressing recently. But everything kind of looked/felt like slow motion. Also, gripping anything hard is very difficult. It’s strange. I haven’t talked to Omar yet, but definitely looking like a deload is what’s needed.

I didn’t dress up this year :frowning:

Really dropping the ball Gmoore

Poolin’

Pendley Rows: Trying to really nail form
215x3x5
225x2x5

Pull-ups:
+25x2x6
+15x2x7

Cable Rows: More BB’ing style, dat dere MMC
3x10

Wide-Grip Pulldowns:
3x10-12

Face Pulls:
3x30

Pinwheels: Idk how heavy to go with these. I feel I’m not really cheating or anything, and still feel my biceps… but weights are getting heavy
45’sx3x10-12

BB Curls: Seriously these were CT Fletcher style curls, cheating to get them up, hard squeeze at top, and slow eccentrics.
95x3x8-12

Decent workout. My allergies are either really bad, or I have a cold, because I’ve felt like shit and been sleeping like 10 hours every day last few days. Runny nose, sore throat. Regardless I took a ton of medicine to cover all my bases, so I kind of did my workout and am going to class semi-effed up lol.

Ohh, and I lost one of my Oly lifting style straps FML.

But deloading next week, and macros are raised to 330/210/70 on days, and 250/210/80 off days. YES

Legs

Conventional DL’s: So adjusted form. Basically put shins right to the bar, but ‘lean’ back. then on initiating the pull, I literally just ram my shins really fucking hard into the bar. As result, everything felt super strong today.
275x5
315x4 (last set with hook grip)
355x3
295x5
335x4
375x3 ← had one more maybe, but straps were kind of unraveling.

Front Squat: I know I have deload next week, so just wanted to see what i had with 2pps
225x4
205x5
195x6
185x6

GM’s: I really don’t know if these are arched backed GM’s or rounded. Like they hit my hams and lower back both really well, idk
185x4x6

Lunges:
40’sx3x10

Abs

Workout was surprisingly good considering sinuses are making breathing a chore. I did almost shit myself during DL’s though, which I guess means I was staying really tight with my core lol

Some Indian guy asked me in the gym how I stayed motivated to do legs, because he never wants too. I gave him some lame ass analogy about how strong a pyramid is because of it’s foundation, and it genuinely seemed to inspire him. Like he was in the Squat rack squatting for like an hour after that hahaha.

Haha that’s hilarious!

Lats/Arms

A1: CGBP: These felt really good.
165x3x6

A2: Deadhang Pullups: With pausing on benching, and dead hang, grip kind of wore out from squeezing the fuck out of the bar for so long lol
BWx3x8

B1: Dips: Tried with weight, but it kind of hurt collar bones
+20x8
BWx2x8 (paused)

B2: Straight Arm Pulldowns:
3x12

C1: Rope Pushdowns:
3x10-12

C2: Rope Curls:
3x12-15

D1: French Press:
60x3x12

D2: Incline Curls: Curled both DB’s at the same time
30’sx3x8

Good workout, had to get up stupid early because I have to leave for Indiana early, Ball State. Doing like an RA thing. But good workout overall.

Ball state aka testicle tech lol that’s only about 40 minutes from where I’m at

[quote]chobbs wrote:

LOL it was 4 hour drive from WKU. It was nice up there, really nice dorms, almost like hotels. Indiana people are so much more friendly then KY people. That’s my experience living in both states for a long period of time, and traveling across both regularly. I’m not sure why that is, though.

Deload Legs

Box Jumps: Tallest box, like… hip level lololololol
5x2

Squats:
185x2x8
205x2x6
225x2x4

SLDL’s:
135x3x15

Goblet Squats:
70x2x12

Skater Squats:
BWx2x15

Abs + Calves

5 rounds of sprints.

So for deload, reduced weights 30-40%, upped reps a bit. Am going to start doing box jumps pre-WO to get my CNS activated I suppose. Did a bunch of sets of deadhang pull-ups, too. Probably 15 sets of 5 scattered through out the workout, no idea why.

Also, I’ve kind of realized in the last year, year and a half, due to personal life things, I’ve lost a lot of aggression. Not like I’m a pussy now, I’ve just kind of tried to me more mellow after certain events in my life, and now I’m kind of just indifferent to a lot of things. So I realize that it’s kind of effected my lifting a bit. While I use to mentally tear myself apart if I missed a rep or would let a bad workout ruin my day, I feel I may have swung to far to other side of the spectrum, and now if those things occur, I’m too passive about it, just ‘it happens, will get it next time’, but not in like a ‘motivated’ way. I just don’t care about most things anymore, not in a depressed way. I think I just intentionally altered my worldview a bit, and strayed to far towards another vice as opposed to a virtuous middle ground. So I’ll be trying to change that, because it’s hindered my progress in all honesty. I can tell.

LOLOLOLOLOL

Push Deload

Flat Bench: Found out that if there is light weight on the bar leg drive basically just slides me out of my arch lol
115x2x10
135x2x7
155x2x5
135x2x15

Floor Press:
135x3x6

DB Seated Press: Kind of exaggerated ROM
35’sx2x15

Cuban Press:
15’sx2x15

Decline DB Extensions:
15’sx2x20

Cable Flies:
2x20

Quick pump. Freaking Browndisaster talked to me again, introducing me to his friend. They call me Clark, because I look like Superman I guess (I get that a lot from a lot of people due to the glasses, dark hair, and height combo I sport). Pretty sure I’m on my way to Rapeville if I’m not careful. lol But seriously he’s a nice guy, actually a doctor in India.

I think I’m going to look up North a bit more for Law Schools, just because I’m getting kind of tired of KY I think.
