Excited.
Just finished the series off the ps3. If you don’t go into it expecting epic dialog and Gordian knot-like plot twists and except it for what it is- hack and slash with a decent attempt at portraying a somewhat exaggerated but different culture and time then you will be very happy.
Made me want to get up and chop someone in half, preferably in slo-motion. It’s too bad Whitfield has lymphoma, I would have enjoyed seeing him in another season.
I’d recommend it.
Update: They are looking for a new Spartacus since the lead actors cancer relapse:
Spartacus: Gods of the Arena has started.
Bloody, eh?
anyone else watching season two? I’ve watched the first two episodes… man I love this show.
If you don’t have Starz you can watch the episodes via Netflix. They’re available for the streaming feature to watch online. check em out. Episode 2 was pretty wild
yeah im watching gods of the arena, its decent, not as amazing as i felt season 1 was. also this is only a mini series which will only be 6 ep’s long. they filmed this to see if Whitfield was getting better from his cancer, but i just heard last week that they decided to film blood and sand season 2 w/o whitfield! i was fucking bummed but am glad that the story will continue, just hope having a new spartacus doesn’t fuck everything up! they will cast new spartacus in april so if anyones ripped and looks like andy whitfield call up CSA. Also theres a met-rx contest on facebook to win a role in the second season of blood and sand so check it out.

Yes. It’s awesome/insane. The depravity with which they write these characters is astounding to me.

this is awesome! very interested in this…
liam mcintyre will be the new spartacus… they look a little similar, i just hope the acting is the same cuz whitfield was the shit
fuck yeah1, i dont think they will be able to replace whitfield, im jsut hoping enough fans stay interested so the show will go on, i would enjoy at least 3 seasons of blood and sand, not counting this gods of the arena mini series

just watched the first episode of season 2… is it me or do others kinda feel sorry for batiatus? He got his ass beat and then received a golden shower…
at least character development is pretty good in this season… and they spent a few more dollars on special effects unlike the crappy CGI from the first season

I agree. Even though he’s a total whiny dickhead… I still felt sorry for his ass lol.
This season does seem to be a higher budget. I honestly wouldn’t mind them sticking with this story line for a full season or two and then attempting to pick up where season 1 left off. Just go with the whole background story of the house and all that. I’d be totally fine with that

You sound like a gay
So far the episodes were FUCKING GREAT.
The first season started way weaker!
Gore, swordfights, menage a trois, girl on girl /Xena on Lila from Dexter, lusty slaves, intrigue, a vision of capua that’s full of shit and piss and not to forget: sweaty bromoaction in the gladiatorpits…
I hope they can keep up the pace!

Why do you care so much? If you don’t like the show, stop posting in the thread about it.
For the record, I really enjoy the show and it is very entertaining. I will be interested to see if there is another season after this mini-series.
