Soy

Okay guys, this is my last response here. First, I did try soy a few years back and I didn’t like the effects. Secondly, I already explained that genistein does bind to estrogen receptors. People theorized that if the flavones bound to receptors it would cause an antiestrogenic effect, by preventing estradiol from binding. However, I already pointed out in my article that they don’t seem to interfere much with estradiol and even if they did, they still activate transcription themselves. Meaning, it acts nearly the same as estradiol. What irritates me is that I already explained this in my article. It’s as if people don’t even read it. Hey guys, I’m all for having a different opinion. That’s awesome! But please, if you’re going to come at me, personally, at least bring some GOOD support to back what you are stating. I don’t mean personal experience and a couple of old studies either. Don’t bring up two studies and say, “Hey you’re wrong!” I at least have the courtesy to provide plenty of support. Also, please read through the article thoroughly before making comments. Oh and here’s a quick note. One study does not make a fact. Hell, 200 don’t. Studies only provide “support” for hypotheses and previous findings. Eventually, people may reach a consensus, but even then things are never certain, as we continually discover new things every day.
Finally, please DO NOT tell me to relax. Or not get worked up over protein. Protein has little to do with my emotions. I guess if your sister lost her baby girl, you wouldn’t be feeling up to arguing or having to go over and justify something you already explained. Or, if one of your friends was put in critical condition after being nearly beaten to death. Or maybe if you just got word that another is going to prison. I don’t let emotions interfere with work, lifting, or school, but posting messages is neither. I’m sorry if you thought I was being a dick.

Could I be wrong about soy? Of course! I’m human guys. Still, I believe that it’s something that should be left alone and research has convinced me further. You guys will have to decide for yourself and some of you obviously have. Oh, and by all means, do some research on your own. Don’t rely only on what I and someone else say. Look for yourself. I’m taking a break from the forum for a little while. Take care. --Cy

I hope you don’t think I was attacking your personally! The only reason I posted in the first place is because I know that many people don’t read any e-zines beside Testosterone. Obvisouly 99% of the poeple who write articles here think soy is terrible. I found other sites saying different things. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal myself! Just pointing out there not everyone hates soy!

I told you to relax because you seemed to get worked up over the posts! How can you expect anyone here to know about your misfortunes? Of course I wouldn’t tell you to ‘relax’ about personal tragedy.

Is soybean oil purported to have any of the girl-ification effects of soy protein? I don’t know much about oil extraction processes and whether or not the isoflavones in question can be found in oil or not.
