I’ve heard Kurt Sutter would prefer to end the show while its popular and the writing is fresh. I’d say next season could be the last.

Kurt Sutter based SoA on Hamlet (Clay is Claudius, Jax is Hamlet, the journal is the ghost of Hamlet’s father). When Clay dies, it’ll be near the end. They can’t kill Clay early because he and Gemma have hinted at a major betrayal of John in previous seasons. One that Piney isn’t aware of.[/quote]
Which betrayal is that? I’ve seen everybody episode and the major betrayals cause by those two are the murder of John Teller, Clay’s adultery with Gemma, and having the club run guns.

It’s in their one-on-one scenes. Clay and Gemma colluded in John’s death but the details have yet to be revealed.

Having grown up with guys whose dads were in MCs and having dated more than a few biker chicks (one of my exes was even raised by her uncle who was the Pres of an HA chapter) it’s not that they are necessarily racist, it’s just the rules. There are some racists in every organization, but that’s no different than life. Hells Angels do dirt with white supremacists to make money, but they will party with black clubs like the Chosen Few or the Dragons out in Oakland and they have done that going back to the 50s. Hell, the Pagans at one point were looking to patch in the Philly chapter of the Wheels of Soul, if memory serves me correctly. Most people outside the culture make certain assumptions based upon their own POV.

Just because he doesn’t look the way YOU think he would is a silly way to base the part, especially if the point is he is passing. I have an ex who is half German/half Thai, but people tend to think she is mulatto, Samoan or Puerto Rican depending upon the makeup of the group of friends she hangs with because she has dark skin and frizzy hair. That doesn’t change the fact that she is German/Thai. I have cousins who are mulatto and in the same family one daughter has blonde hair and blue eyes and looks like Becky the cheerleader and the other one looks more of a mixture. Hell, my grandfather and his siblings are lighter than all but the palest of Europeans, have thin lips and noses, straight hair and all have light colored eyes except my grandfather. I dated a set of twins who had a black father and a white mother, but they would mark white down for race because they both looked like their mother (hazel eyes, blond hair, fair skin) and had a white stepfather and got sick of explaining their ethnic background to people. That’s what “passing” is - looking different than people expect you to because of your ethnic background. Juice is “passing”. The first YR it came out The Promos with the guy on the bike and the sherif asking him where Ya goin an him coming back with were all free under the blah blah came off as corny. But bad promo was hiding what seems to be a good show.
Oh and Dexter is good when he is a Happy Mass Murderer, Not a conflicted family guy. It has sucked as of late.

There are much worse ways to spend a weekend than getting caught up on past seasons of SoA. It’s a show that delivers everything it promises, like The Shield was.

That’s why I think John’s death was a messy one. Clay and Gemma seem reluctant to talk about it even when there’s nobody else around. It’s not because they’re afraid of being overheard; they seem uncomfortable even talking about it.
For people who live so close to violence, they must have done something really bad.
