Sons of Anarchy is Back

So…

Juice attempted to hang himself. I think he failed and is still alive. Bobby will fail to usurp Clay and will get his ass blown off somehow.

Hey brother. Hope all is well.

I think Juice does indeed kill himself but I agree about the 2nd part. There will be no reason to keep Bobby alive anymore.

I agree, Juice is dead. For awhile there I thought he was playing the Cops and telling the gang everything that was going on but nope I was wrong…

SoA, Dexter, and Walking Dead my top 3… I think I have issues…

Nothing wrong with that, that’s my top 3 now that Breaking Bad has finished.

Juice’s entire downward spiral was really hard to watch for me, big props to Theo Rossi for his acting.

Juice isn’t dead. You could clearly hear the tree branch creak and snap as they cut to credits. Watch it again.

Anyhow, the angle with him being half black is fucking retarded. This is like having a male actor try to play a female character back in Shakespeare’s day, only less believable. They should have made him gay or something. Anything would have been better than trying to convince the audience that an Italian actor is half black.

I keep thinking he should have just told the sheriff to fuck off and that he could just deny it since nobody would believe it anyway, but then I remember that it’s actually supposed to be realistic somehow.

called it… lol

So much for Bobby and Clay building up a solid partnership while they were in prison together. I wonder how things are between Clay and Tig.

Vin Diesel is half black and plays an Italian all the time. And Juice is Puerto Rican, not Italian. Not to mention, there are plenty of people of mixed race who have passed and do pass for having been in ethnic groups other than what they actually are in real life, not just in TV and movies. If you want to discount the storyline on the merit of the story, fine, but to discount it based upon the ethnicity of Theo Rossi when he is not playing a character of his OWN ethnicity is ridiculous.

I never said Juice was Italian. The actor is, and he can’t pull off a half black character. He doesn’t look the part.

Vin Diesel can pull off playing an Italian because, first of all, he’s also half Italian. Secondly, and more important, HE ACTUALLY LOOKS ITALIAN. If an actor looks the part, they can be any damn ethnicity they want.

I don’t like the fact that I have to pretend that it’s actually possible that anyone would believe that Juice is what the writers say he is for the story to work.

Other than this angle, the rest of the show kicks ass.

Just because he doesn’t look the way YOU think he would is a silly way to base the part, especially if the point is he is passing. I have an ex who is half German/half Thai, but people tend to think she is mulatto, Samoan or Puerto Rican depending upon the makeup of the group of friends she hangs with because she has dark skin and frizzy hair. That doesn’t change the fact that she is German/Thai. I have cousins who are mulatto and in the same family one daughter has blonde hair and blue eyes and looks like Becky the cheerleader and the other one looks more of a mixture. Hell, my grandfather and his siblings are lighter than all but the palest of Europeans, have thin lips and noses, straight hair and all have light colored eyes except my grandfather. I dated a set of twins who had a black father and a white mother, but they would mark white down for race because they both looked like their mother (hazel eyes, blond hair, fair skin) and had a white stepfather and got sick of explaining their ethnic background to people. That’s what “passing” is - looking different than people expect you to because of your ethnic background. Juice is “passing”. If you don’t understand that concept, I don’t think I can make it any simpler than that.

Thank God for you and X. I don’t have the patience to argue on the internet anymore.

Mannnn…I just kept reading that over and over as my mind wandered through the possible scenarios.

Aye preferring this season to the last. Any Irish viewers in the thread?

I predict a massive exit for Clay at the end of this season. Mum’s will manage to talk her way out of it being blood n all but Ron’s probably going to get stripped and buried.

I don’t see it happening this season. That would basically be the end of the show. It’s doing too well to wrap up after 4 seasons.

I’ve heard Kurt Sutter would prefer to end the show while its popular and the writing is fresh. I’d say next season could be the last.

Kurt Sutter based SoA on Hamlet (Clay is Claudius, Jax is Hamlet, the journal is the ghost of Hamlet’s father). When Clay dies, it’ll be near the end. They can’t kill Clay early because he and Gemma have hinted at a major betrayal of John in previous seasons. One that Piney isn’t aware of.
