An article i was reading had this to say about all the “why, when, how, what, how many” people

I know that some of you reading this won’t like the “do this” approach. You’ll say that you need to know “why” before you’ll do something.

Well, I argue that you’re the person who will have the hardest time with physique change because physique change starts with doing, not analyzing. Although I wanted to know why, Craig told me to shut up and do. In fact, I remember one day he sat me down and told me this:

“You’re not entering a classroom to learn nuclear biophysics here; you’re trying to build muscle at the gym. Your body doesn’t care why something’s working. So shut up, do what I tell you and you can learn why later.”

So, to be honest, I just shut up and did.

Funny how that works ?? I had to learn to crawl before learning to walk.

That is an EXCELLANT view, one of which many should take notice of.

I agree entirely

stop treating weightlifting as a fun relaxing activity where you can take it slowly with long rest periods and chat to people about random shit, instead treat it like your damn life depends on it, yell your ass off and break a damn sweat

Why can’t weightlifting be fun and relaxing? When I’m at the gym I work hard, and forget about a lot of shit thats bugging me in the real world. In the end my stress levels are lower and I’m much more relaxed. I also enjoy it quite a bit, if your not enjoying it you wont stick with it.

I believe this qualifies as a bona fide bullet in the list of “Differences between the Men and Boys”.

for me it is a stress reliever by getting pissed off at the weights and breaking a sweat, the stress gets more released as i get more fatigued

Compared to “real life” issues, my time in the gym is a cakewalk. Just me and the weights.

Cake??? where?!?!?! :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree with the OP.

That works well if you have a coach.
