Some People Here Are Confused

It’s not just that thread. It’s the accumulated fatigue of all the other threads where people ostensibly ask you a question or say they need help and when you try to do that it becomes a pissing match over this theory some person who isn’t progressing read over what has worked in real life. I actually think that some guys jump in just to stir the pot.

If they were simple debates over differing philosophies that the differing posters had put into play that both worked, that is a worthwhile debate. Arguing about what you have read or what you heard without putting it into play or at least having SEEN someone put it into play and achieve results is annoying.

I don’t disagree, but the boards have been like that since I’ve been here. They’ve probably been like that forever. This threads seems like it’s in response to that specific thread, and that’s not what I interpreted from it.

I hope this wasn’t directed at me. I might not be on the level of the biggest guys on this site, but I’d hardly classify myself as “smaller”.

I doubt it. Every post I have seen from you that comes to mind you were either trying to learn and help. I doubt any of us “bigger” guys have an issue with anyone smaller than us simply because they are smaller, it just gets frustrating when you genuinely are trying to help and it seems as if someone takes that as a signal to try to prove how much you DON’T know.

I used to get the same thing when I was in insurance. I was in that industry for almost 20 years and there was always some guy off the street who could barely read and write who wanted to tell me how to do my job and try and prove he knew more about what I dealt with than I did. No one knows everything and we all have stuff to learn from each other. I have learned a lot from plenty of guys and gals on here. Some I have thanked publicly. Others I may have just shot a PM. If you know more about something I acknowledge that and learn what I can, but to just talk shit and wish ill upon others is ridiculous.

I’ve learned in the past few days here that you’re 6’5" and 290lbs…if that comment was directed at you then this site is for naught.

I’m going to piss everyone off…

First off, slightly high cholesterol level means nothing. "high used to be 240 about 30 years ago. Then it was 215, then 200, and now “they” are trying to push it down to 185.

Cholesterol Myths:

Tell me what both cortisol and testosterone are derived from in the human body?

Too many people get a hard on over trying to put PX in his place.

Too many people get a hard on over trying to put 150lbers in their place.

At the core of Bodybuilding is “Physique Enhancement”. That includes a lot of various factors from increasing muscle mass, decreasing bodyfat, and improving balance and symmetry. Too often this board focuses on one or the other but not all characteristics.

Strangely, there is no place on a contest entry form for the number of times you can bench 225 or how low your body fat is. That kind of quantitative data means absolutely nothing when it comes to the sport of bodybuilding. Yes, in the extremes it’s going to matter…no one at 10% bf is going to win anything, nor is someone barely benching 100lbs. At the end of the day performing well on stage has little to do with how big or lean you are.

Guess who won his class? You may be suprised:

Just read through it. That thread was ridiculous. What I want to know is how many vegtetables regular people who never even look at a weight set eat.

Yea, exactly. And they’re still kickin.

…and there you have it. Another internet forum down the tubes. Too bad people can’t be held accountable on the internet.

Why is everything a dick swinging contest?

X2 at BantamRunners post.

If thats you on the left then no offense but you look like you just stepped out of Auschwitz

I’ve been to Auschwitz and there are some pretty big guys there. Oh wait…what year were you talking about?

Please refrain from putting others progress down without making your own public.

Jesus Christ is this concept that hard for people to understand?

Says the asshole who just joined last month and has no photos anywhere?

What a dick.

Incidentally, the two you mentioned both frequent this site FAR less than they use to because of this issue and… other board problems.

Same goes with a bunch of other guys who are BIG and actually make legitimate progress.

I do see a problem in general with the boards, I just thought they’ve improved over the last year. I’m not one who’s going to argue with big guys about how they got big, but I’m also not going to defer to them on topics unrelated to their size which is what happened in the last topic about general health. I would respect what you specifically had to say on the matter because you’re a doctor but not because you were bigger.

Are you asking the smaller guys not to post and make suggestions at all? Or just not to debate with the bigger guys when they enter the thread. I had a debate with lewhitehurst a couple days ago, was that out of line even though I was respectful during the debate? I pose that question to him as well because if I’m doing more harm then good in the forum I’d like to honestly know.

Is having photos a prerequisite to criticize someone else’s progress?.. Does having a photo of yourself then allows that person to retaliate when they don’t like what you’ve said about their physique. (Yea my arms are skinny but you have a chicken chest)

I honestly don’t see the relevance. If you decide to put yourself out there on a public forum then expect certain things. Some one being more developed than myself doesn’t mean i can’t point out certain areas they need to improve.

And to all the “big guys”… are you getting paid by this website?, i honestly don’t understand why so much frustration over something that seems to be so insignificant. It’s only a website.

Guys get frustrated about newbies asking the same questions instead of using the “search” function… yet still when some one uses the search function and bumps a 2 yr old thread on the topic they are curious about, they get flamed for bumping the thread. WTF? Personally the same question could come up everyday in a different thread and i will answer it every time if i know the answer. The mere fact that i’m on this site indicates i have free time on my hands so it takes nothing out of me to answer the question.

Some of you guys get angry because a newbie ask a questions that to you (big guy) should be common sense. Yes it may be common sense to you now but was it always that way. I doubt anyone in here had an absolute idea of what exactly to do the moment they step foot in the gym. Yea you’re bigger than me now because you’ve been training for 10+ years, but were you more developed than me when you were at my stage in training?.. probably not.

You being bigger than someone doesn’t necessarily mean you know more than they do. Because someone isn’t 200 lbs doesn’t mean they don’t know how to get to 200 lbs or have never been there before. It could simply mean that they’re more comfortable at a lighter weight.

So much muscle yet still some of you are so mentally weak.

I think there’s a difference between intelligent discussion, the the rantings/citings of any and all studies that seem to contradict someone else’s progress,… progress that has ALREADY BEEN MADE!

I’ve disagreed with many people on here, some are the more experienced members, with clearly proven physiques, and others are younger, or more inexperienced trainers, who obviously read a lot,… but I at least always TRY to be respectful. Some people almost seem to feel the need to disprove anything that goes against their current mode of thinking.

Sometimes I think we all need to get our heads out of our own asses and look around a bit. Newer trainers can learn from what has worked for older guys. Sure not everything will work for them, but you should be intelligent enough to give something an honest appraisal and then make your own judgment (regardless of what the latest muscle rags say!). Some of the older trainers need to realize that they may indeed be the genetic freaks, and what worked for them may not work for everyone (although, in my personal opinion, usually they’re more right than wrong based on what I see on here).

Can’t we just all get along?! -lol

S

sigh

I’ll change my mind when the facts change, and they only change if you can convince me with a logical debate.

i think some people confuse debate and “please convince me because I thought it was really abc not xyz” with someone arguing against them. Most of the time they are not arguing, they just need convincing.

If someone was told the wrong info for years they SHOULD question people when they say something different.

What shouldn’t happen is people blindly accept it and follow just cause the presenter is bigger. Their bad info might actually come from someone who is bigger on a different forum or mag. So who do they believe??

We need to let beginner debate it a little to be convinced and share their thoughts about why they are questioning your approach, if not they are sheep.

If you are tired of the convincing, stop answering. If you expect a new member to just follow your advice then you are looking for sheep, i don’t see many sheep so good luck with that.

Again, I’ll change my mind when the facts change, and they only change if you can convince me with a logical debate.

(“you” in this post is no one specific, it is whoever is offering advice).

It’s quite simple really.

This is all obviously because of one simple little question. That question was not answered, but rather turned around to be made into something it wasn’t. Which happens all the damn time.

I do keep topics out of the BB forum that aren’t relevant to BB. I just thought that perhaps fruits/veggies could/should be part of a BBers diet (not just for health either), to a degree. And I was simply curious as to if it was or if it wasn’t.

I’ll go back to the GAL forum now, lol.

Apparently the concept IS that hard to grasp.

If BR was posting in RMP, then by all means the faceless can tear him apart.

BUT, he was here to have a conversation, not have some faceless douche randomly put down his progress.

If someone is ASKING for criticism, then fine comment. If they aren’t, the faceless should shut their fucking mouths, and keep their opinion of others progress to themselves.

Ya dig?

Bro science to the fullest.

These articles have no scientific value. And the authors have zero credentials. Furthermore, significant increase in testosterone levels has never been documented in human trials due to an augmented cholesterol intake in well fed individuals.

Your question wasn’t the problem. Every jackass who jumped in that we hardly ever even see in this forum is who the problem is.

The guy who made that statement about spinach is a prime example.

Most of these jackasses barely even lift weights but feel the need to make themselves known in every BODYBUILDING thread.
