Solubility of 4-AD-EC in benzyl alc.

Bill or anyone else know what the approx. maximum achievable concentration of 4-AD-EC is, in a benzyl alc. solution?

Brock may know. I have never measured it. It is difficult to predict: on the one hand the melting point is higher than for trenbolone acetate, which would imply lower solubility, but on the other hand the second hydroxyl group might help.

If 4-AD-EC is commercially available (besides
in-house at Biotest and in bulk to those buying it from us) I didn’t know it. If it is and is from Biotest, then there is no issue (as there is with Finaplix, or would be with commonly available 4-AD itself) of having insoluble impurities present. So, as long as you see undissolved material, there’s undissolved 4-AD-EC. Dissolution of finely powdered steroids in benzyl alcohol is usually (perhaps always) a pretty fast process, so if after a couple of hours with some swirling along the way, you still have undissolved material, you’ll need more benzyl alcohol, or will need heat (water bath). It may be advantageous to perform the procedure hot, to add hot oil,
and filter hot. I don’t know what final concentration you can achieve. I would try 50 mg/mL with 5% BA and see what happens, unless Brock provides information that more is possible.

Why does my 4-AD-EC change from clear to milky when added to water? Doesn’t this mean there is a change happening at the atomic level? If so, is my 4-AD-EC being destroyed?

Water, being a polar solvent and 4-AD-EC
being very predominantly hydrophobic, reduces
the solubilizing power of the clear formulation used
for 4-AD-EC. So, 4-AD-EC comes out as extremely small (microscopic) particles. This is expected and normal,
and there is no change to the molecular
structure. If you do not add to water,
the same occurs in your stomach.

In contrast, the opaque bubblegum formulations
are emulsions and do not do this. It was
thought that the clear solutions might have
higher bioavailability since that has been
the case with some other compounds of similar
physicochemical properties but with these
ethylcarbonate steroids, the emulsion
and clear solution seem equally good.
