Soldiering On

New TOYS! aren’t new toys great at any age?

Not so fast Nikki!! haha
I think it would take awhile to shrink nearly 10"

n8t- thats a blow to my ego :frowning: oh well, suck it up.
ya, I wish I had a real house with a garage or basement…crammed upstairs in the guest room will have to do. I’ll have to DL outside or something, cause I’m not so sure the floors can take it. Then again I’m not totally giving up the gym, just using my stuff to supplement, get in extra work, etc…
My husband had a friend that lived in this neighborhood and he fell through the floor down to the living room onto his couch! LMAO!!!

Sol!!! I’m on my way to look at the tires now…WOOT!

OOH!
And I’m happy to report no knee stiffness after yesterday’s jaunt.Actually, they are feeling better than EVER! I put full weight on them coming down the stairs this morning…
I think its thanks in part to the MOVE FREE stuff I’ve been taking, as well as my fish oils…
It’s good to know I can still get in the cardio!

Body comp progress stalled for awhile, but I think it’s kicking in again. cloths are getting looser…haven’t weighed myself, but I "feel,’ lighter. And also, I’ve been STAAAAARVING lately…hello metabolism??

Its hard after you just pounded so much food and an hour later, its like nothing ever happened.

on the weighted walks - “da net” (can’t remember the reference I googled) suggested to start with 25lbs and move up. Also as I mentionned in my log - a properly supported bag and distributing the weight.

I must say that I did it on a wonderfully mild winter day - sunshine and all, and the show was the tuff that hadn’t been picked up off the sidewalks. You did it rambo style.

and yeah on the weights!!! and the recipe looks nom!

as for the tire - if you actually want to rep it be carefull the weight you choose. Maybe start with 250-300lbs and of that gets easy get a 500lbs. Where some crummy clothes you can dirty and actually try to flip a few while you’re there to get a sense of how the weight works. Just my 2 cents of course.

Excited for the tire stuff. I chuckled at the guy falling thru the floor, hope it was a safe landing for him. No worries on the weighted walks, you will progress in no time. I started at 20lbs with the weight and every week went up 5lbs ~ work/train smart is all I was trying to get at. have an awesome tire picking day!

ohhh, the misguided adventures of Betty. I crack myself up sometimes. I am a natural blond afterall!

First I went 15 miles the wrong direction…figured that out, turned around, hit the store for some cottage cheese I needed anyway…and proceeded in the RIGHT direction.

get there, and i feel like a cheeseball with all these farm guys mulling over a whole lot of nothin. The girl I emailed showed up and she led me out to the pile…

Wanting a closer look I managed to step into knee deep water that had frozen over and felt like an even bigger do-do head.

The tire I have my eye on is estimated to be 150-200 lbs…worth it?? hmmmm
They don’t get any more much bigger than that, very often.

It was a long 10 mile ride home with frozen feet, lol…

Up today…chest/back…first time using my ‘home gym.’

This made me chuckle, sounds like quite the tire getting adventure! I would think it is a great tire to get at least to start with, a person could definetly wear themselves out with it anyhow

I get my tire Fri or Sat!!

I need to figure out a better benching situation…its pretty dang ghetto, LOL! Kinda wish I got that bench now.

Did my own thing…then a million push ups/pull ups

then my own stuff again. I like the feeling of training at home!

And I like those moves, and I can squat this way as well…(lumberjack squat)

here’s a vid, cause like Nikki says, vids are awesome.

Videos are very awesome!!! That is a correct statement… hey good stuff on the pulling, I always grab the lip of the weight and pull that way (killer on the fingers btw) instead of a towel ~ but a towel is an awesome idea! I will be doing that, thank you for the idea.

Yes Vids trump!

I actually tried out the calve part.

I love doing the 1 arm rows with the bar jammed in the corner, its the only way I get enough weight with my DBS only up to 25 lbs.

Cant wait to see you flippin the tire!

Training:
Cardio

Row 2 minutes
walk up/down stairs for 2 min w/ 20lb dbs
TOTAL- 20 min

Kicked my but pretty good! Had to test out the old knees. I managed to break off my velcro strap on my rower though…DAMNIT! That didn’t take long

Turkish get ups
windmills

Tomorrow I’ll hit the gym for some mommy time. My daughter did not have school this morning due to a delay.(we got a dusting of snow overnight)

I got a random call while in Target this morning, lol. It was a girl wanting to know if I trained people at home. Of course I immediately though ‘OMG, I MUST start a HOME business, STAT!!!’
I was all jumbled and bumbled…she caught me off guard.
Instead I encouraged her to at least check out the gym and we can get the basics down there…she has no formal training and I have no experience training anyone outside the gym…
at least until things settle down here and I can come up with another plan if she wants to continue training with me outside the gym.
My fantasy is to have my own training bizz outside of a gym…maybe it’s small sign.

Good to see things are looking up!

And nice home training you’re doing there - me likey!

Thanks.

I was just coming back to say that the home training is pretty neat cause my daughter “exercises,” with me. And thats GOOD! …its 30-60 min that she is NOT watching tv or begging me for snacks! lol…

See, you’re setting a good example!
What are you using for TGUs and windmills - kettlebell?

^ I just realized I said ‘outside of the gym,’ like 3x in a row in my last post, haha!

Cal…Thanks!
And I’m just using dbs…I’d really like to get some between 15-50lbs to start. There ex$$$pensive though! Its on the list…as well as a TRX…
I’d like to have more ‘toys,’ on the off chance, I uh, start a business!

Yep vids rawk!

Nice home-training.

So this evening was my last session with that mom/daughter duo.

It got me thinking …instead of them paying for more sessions at the gym, I wonder if I could come to THEM. Although they already have a membership.

I can change the lives of many a housewife and sahm around here without them having to even leave there home!

It would be cool and is a great idea(in THEORY!)

It does sound like a cool idea. Love the vid - vids are awesome

Training at home is a joy! And there probably is a market for women who want to train, but don’t want to go to the gym. Just look at all those exercise dvds.

Thanks Nadia…up early making the rounds I see?

I am sore sore sore… my upper body hasn’t ever consistently been this sore…I like it, in a twisted sort of way. I can FEEL my lats…I’m growing me a nicer pair of wings

It’s been two weeks hammering away at not being a WUSS…Doing MORE is addictive I can see…
I haven’t weighed in. 95% of me doesn’t really care what I weigh, although I have a number in mind, if that makes sense.

My hand held body fat monitor thing has dipped into the 24% range, which is cool…but I have to lie to it and make up a weight I think I may be at. It’s not the most accurate thing, I know…but its nice to see the downward trend…
I also lost that pesky inch around my hips…I don’t ever remember seeing it below 38(small waist, big butt here!) haha
It’s at 38" now.
