Yeah, we’d better stick to that other way involving the shaved, tanned, heavily oiled, and banana hammock-ed men.

I didnt read all 6 pages , but if I’m not the 1st to make this observation, forgive the repetition…BUT…sorry guy, no genetics alone in this world will transform one from that skinny minnie 17 yr old mop-head in that picture to this ultra muscular guy. There’s no way in hell he’s not on a high dose; it’s the only way this could happen.

Don’t give me the “hard work” shit either (you know who you are who usually chime in with that junk). This guy is only in the 170s and he’s dry as hell and dialed in after 2 yrs of lifting. If he’s admitted he’s using then I respect him and say good job keep it going. If he says he eats chicken breasts and brown rice while drinking protein shakes and eating a low-fat diet I’ll call bullshit on him immediately and call him a lying piecea crap.

about 3 years most people tend to exaggerate how long they train-mostly because they like to count ‘hardcore time only’, either way he made the transformation in some given time close to that, and he admitted to using PH. He has only gained like 50lbs of muscle in that entire time or so anyways. -yeah its a lot but 3 years and few PH in your prime, I think its doable-.

So? Who fucking cares?

Not necessarily. Just from a basic definition of sport on Google:

"an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition "

Sounds more or less like bodybuilding, IMO. I’d say, rather, that it’s a sport AND a beauty pageant. A beauty pageant where everyone weighs three hundred pounds and takes massive amounts of steroids.

you raise a strong point

Okay, I got to page 3 and gave the fuck up! I fell asleep during the bit when some bitches went off point to argue about PH and blah blah blah…

“Rate my physique”: Good job fella! I’ll give you a 9 as all the ballshit aside, it still takes hard work to look like that!

Bodybuilding isn’t a sport. It is a male beauty pageant. Very few things in this world could be more obvious.
The term (I compete in bodybuilding) comes to mind.

If its competitive and takes years of training and is very very hard to be good at then I consider it a sport.

Man, extreme yoyoing is a sport, competitive eating is a sport, but bodybuilding isnt?

Just pretend that the game play takes place all year long and the referee only steps in for a couple hours a year to say who has done better.
Uber N3wb wrote:

Competition has a broader definition, and isn’t exclusive to sports (Pepsi and Coke compete for our business, men compete for the affection of the opposite sex, etc…).
Uber N3wb wrote:

How about being a doctor? People compete for admittance to med school or residency. They train for years in order to hone their skills in a particular field, and have to work their whole lives to maintain their edge and keep up with the times.

Do you think cardiothoracic surgeons are playing games when they carve into people?

How about national spelling bees? Are those sports? They sure seem like they take a lot of effort to be good at, and you better believe they are competitive.
Uber N3wb wrote:

Just because they show it on ESPN doesn’t make it a sport.

In my mind, at least, if you have to scrounge the dictionary for the definition of “sport” in order to defend a particular activity, then it is probably not a sport in the strict sense of the word. I mean, who cares if the 6th or 7th definition kinda-sorta can be bent to somewhat a particular position?

(Though, for what it’s worth, I, personally, don’t consider yo-yoing or eating to be sports, nor do I consider their participants to be athletes. I don’t even consider NASCAR to be a sport in the traditional sense of the word.)

The fact is, professional bodybuilders step on stage and the ultimate criteria for how they are judged is…their appearance - whether or not they embody whatever muscular ideal is in vogue at that particular moment.

It is a contest to determine who looks better - a beauty pageant. It fits THAT definition much more easily and closely than it does to a sport, no matter how you want to argue it.

But who cares, really?

(Sorry for the hijack; we should probably start another thread if we want to continue this)

That is HUGE for 2 years, my goodness

You are very good at making good threads suck really really bad.

…This is stupid…really really stupid, legcutter has basically been an ass. USNS whatever, he’s not that dialed in nor is he that huge, he has an awesome physique, but it isn’t anything freaky, just a “look” of after 2+ years of hard work. Bodybuilding is a sport, no doubt about it.

To any who disagree, compete in a show sometime, god damn I respect anyone that does since it’s an extremely brutal thing to do to yourself in order to do well. It takes sacrifice. It may not be our cup of tea, hell it sure isn’t mine, but you can appreciate hard work when you see it. Can’t anyone see that at least? Or do you all have your heads stuck in your asses? Jesus people.

Hey - a fan club! I was wondering whether or not you and your friend would stalk me in other threads, as well.

Personally, I’m not all that surprised Stronghold did - if the original thread which started our altercation and the whole situation between him, Jacked Diesel, and FlavaDave is any indication, the kid loves a good online argument (seriously, who argues online with someone they see every day in person? I’ll tell you who - that guy right there!)

I made a harmless comment defending an assertion made by an earlier poster, didn’t resort to any personal attacks, and merely responded when people addressed that particular discussion point. But, of course, I’m the one ruining the thread - you know, the one where most people are busy degrading the accomplishments of the OP - the accomplishments I applauded him for, btw. Never mind that neither one of you a) apologized to the OP for continuing the hijack or b) made any sort of intelligible refutation to any points I made.

Face it - the two of you are bitching simply to bitch, AND because you love a good e-argument - for one of you it’s apparently some sort of uncontrollable fetish (as you are just disregarding the attempt I made to let it the hell go in the other thread), and the other is (judging by your stellar response thus far) too much of an idiot to realize when he should sit, play dead, or just stay in the fucking dog house and not bother participating.

Quit trolling for me on this site - as flattering as your ability to obsess with me simply by us sharing a few posts is, it detracts from the point of this thread (which is why I even suggested we start a new one over this).

Or, you can swallow whatever need for recognition from other posters you may have (which is why you are doing it so shamelessly and publicly) and simply PM me.

Once again - sorry for the hijack.

A few points:

Stronghold- I’ve been following the Gym Rules thread, so I know what Legcutter is talking about. Grow a pair and handle your real life shit…in real life. If you are that much of a pussy outside of cyberspace, where it counts, don’t expect anyone to take you seriously online, where it most certainly doesn’t.

Oh, and unless you are texasguy following rainjack, stalking on the internet is sad and not very entertaining.

Legcutter- I’m not going to jump into the debate and steer this thread further off track, but I will leave you with a thought: who gives a shit whether or not bodybuilding is a sport? If you are that much of a bitch to be deterred/attracted to lifting simply by what it can be categorized as, then you don’t have much of a business on this site.

It’s cool to discuss it, and I would in a separate thread, but there is a time and a place.

And, finally, to get on topic…
pwrbarboy- regardless of whether or not your physique was built with Power Bars or something else, it’s evident a great deal of effort went into it. And I can respect that.

I rarely venture into this forum, and don’t rate that often even when I do, but I gave you a 9 as what you’ve done is both unusual and inspiring.

 1. Dont flatter yourself, Im not stalking you and I am not obsessed with you. Youve been a dick a couple of times on this forum, and I have taken notice, thats all.

 2. I dont see Dave, HotCarl, or JD at school. We go to a university with 16000 undergrads. Its not like we are in high school and have lockers next to each other.

 3. Does the internet have some sort of code of manners now?

 4. I dont know when to respond and when not to? Come on man. Its the internet and Im just fucking with you. Chill out.

Im going to respond to this really quick and then stop hijacking. How do you know what I do in my real life? I like how you classify a disagreement I had with someone on an internet forum as “real life shit”. Would you suggest I find someone that I dont know in real life in order to settle and online argument that I had with them in person? I also enjoy how you are applying the inferences that you have made about me based upon my behavior on a forum to how I may or may not be in real life. To me, it really just sounds like you take your internet wayy too seriously.

/hijack.

Op. Good job. Keep up the great work and ignore all of the bullshit thats going on.

Since you refuse to relegate this to PM’s, as asked, let’s hear the times I’ve been a dick - you can start by excluding the instance in which I expressed my disgust that you posted some kids website for millions to see this site’s members degrade him for not knowing any better - all because you got into an argument with him over soy protein.

Was I a dick? Well, it sounds a tad cliche and childish to say this, but, given the mean spiritedness that particular thread was started with, I can’t really help it - it takes one to know one.

Then again, I did make an attempt at making amends and letting bygones be bygones - but you just love your e-arguments too much, don’t you?

Good point, actually. And, I mean, it’s not as if you have any means of contacting one another to settle your arguments like the people with fully descended testicles do, right?

You tell me; you are the one “taking notice” of me for being rude on the 'net.

That remark was for det (remember, you are the one who prefers to settle disputes from behind a monitor) - who, in following you from that thread to this one to tag me, gave me the impression that he’s your Internet lap dog. Keep him on a tighter leash, and fight your own battles.

You can keep “fucking with me”, or you can simply “fuck off”. You’ve proven that your keyboard warrior skills are beyond reproach, and all I can do right now is pray this happened in real life, instead, where you are much less confrontational and would have offered me not only a shoe shine, but a happy ending simply to give you a website where we could continue to duke out our differences.

But, alas, it happened here, instead. I’ve learned my lesson, how about you?

Stronghold,

a) you have 4x the amount of posts I do here, even though you registered after me. Don’t accuse me of being the one who takes this place too seriously, as I rarely post.

b) I’m not suggesting you go beat the shit out of someone. Honestly, I couldn’t say what I would do if someone I bump into every so often talked shit to me online, as it’s never happened. But it’s not like I would just avoid eye contact and pretend that it’s “no big deal” whenever I run across them. There is animosity there, and the only reason why you guys don’t say anything in person isn’t because it doesn’t really exist, it’s just because you don’t have the balls. Disrespect is disrespect, that much I know, and though it doesn’t necessarily warrant a drive-by, it shouldn’t go COMPLETELY unchecked, I think.

Wasn’t there supposed to be a dip competition between some of you guys? That sounds like a better way to settle deciding who’s a bigger “waste of space” or whatever it was you guys were disagreeing on. It’s a lifting-oriented solution to what I gathered was a lifting-oriented argument.

c) There’s no c) here, I just started out with the letters and couldn’t leave it at just 2, as that is silly.

Enough of this, I am sorry for butting in to not only this thread, but whatever disagreement you and Legcutter have.

Solid as hell bro, would love to look like that in a few years myself. You definitely have the genetics to take it to the stage. Keep up the good work.
Legcutter wrote:

Not that there is anything wrong with that, necessarily, but some of you need to get a clue.

Honestly, I dont give a fuck about your opinions, you take the internet way too seriously. To me bodybuilding is a sport, IDC what it is to you. Because I classified badybuilding as a sport, this whole thread turned into a fucking joke. You need to “get a clue,” and grow up, and stop refering to people as inferior, by suggesting your the know all.

Would you consider modeling to be a sport? If not, then how does being on a stage in a thong make it more of one?

I didn’t start the discussion - I merely added my two cents. Congrats for the continued hijack, but, as I said earlier, if someone starts a new thread over this, I would be more than happy to join in.
