Not sure really only stepped back into training for strength for 2wks, judging from my experience and previous PR’s, shouldn’t take long, I’ve squatted and DL in the 600 zone raw, and benched around 365-385 raw can’t remember I was a geared lifter, all those were at 200-230lbs, also squatted 675 in just briefs / full gear was 800, shirted bench 600, Ill be coming back fast I got a few tricks up my sleeve…
Spar4tee-what are your numbers like ATM? Bodyweight?

Dunno. I already squat deep so I’d say mid 4s at least.

Nice bro!
GET IT PURE_COUNTRY! I’ll throw a little log up on here, too, I suppose.
Little background info.
I’m a fat kid who use to pretend to be a powerlifter. I have competed twice. My first meet was a raw NASA meet in 10/09. I competed as a teen in the SHW division. I went 463/309/535 for a 1307 lb total. My next meet was in multiply gear as a SHW teen at an SPF meet in Georgia in August or October of 2010. At that meet I went 750/425/625 for an 1800 lb total. After the meet, I took a little down time then decided to get Josh Bryant to help me with some raw training. I ended up herniating my L4-L5 disk in May 2011. A year later and my strength is way down still. My raw strength prior to injury was 495x2 belt only squat, 375x1 bench, and 575x1 dead before Josh Bryant’s training…I herniated my disk pulling 565x2. Anyhow, no need to ponder on the past.
Training 5/25/12

I’ll def try to get down there at some point. I’ve always wanted that type of environment, and I’m willing to have to go out of my way just to experience it a few times. lol
I’ve actually been to Morehead a few times, so that’s not too far!

Pure_country and I use to drive over 3 hours in one direction to train and then get to drive over 3 hours back lol. We did that at least twice a week for three months lol. Sometimes you have to travel to get some good, nasty training in. As far as Morehead goes, my training goes all to hell there :(. I don’t do well without a training group and having to lift in a commercial gym.
Finally figured this damn site out. It’s tough to really do much on your phone while at work. Just to give some insight on myself I played football/basketball in high school was a decent sized youngin at around 6’1" and during my seasons I stayed in the 188-195lb range. Slipped up fractured my left femur as a freshman in football went back and mentally couldn’t recover (very agonizing injury) ended up quitting after around 8 years of football.
Then I played another season of basketball got pissed at the coach quit that too. Therefore I discovered alcohol drank every free chance I had. Got a job in a fastfood restaurant and with these I began to gain weight and quick. I returned to lifting the later part of last year and going by what I had always been taught I was doing all the right things the wrong way.
The pure country came along and enlightened me and we became pretty close really quick because on a personal level we can relate in more ways than one. Now I have been training with PC and he is in the process of helping me get down to a more preferable (by myself) body fat %. He instructed me of the correct way to cut down and I was at around 236lbs with roughly 21% bf and within maybe a week of the intermittent fasting diet he has me doing on top of conditioning and training within around 2 weeks I was between 225 and 228lbs (unsure about body fat%).
I’m very very busy I work third shift at a mental health institution I’m an officer at a volunteer fire dept. And I’m also in college. But hopefully this week I can begin giving updates with a log as PC has requested.

YES!!! Glad you made it here!! Thanks for the kind words man!! Very proud of you!!! Our gym is coming together and getting better everyday!!! Today is 3" deficit deadlifts no belts, were also finishing the platform tonight try to get pics, picked up a few 5’s and 2.5’s, gonna order a texas power bar soon, trying to also find a good competition bench and a better rack…any ideas from anyone here?!
We also are trying to think of a hardcore gym name, any ideas appreciated, we all enjoy the bible, greek mythology, intellectual things as well as hardcore things, we are all pretty religious so any of that is accepted in our gym, not required though! Hope to throw up a decent log tonight and maybe some videos!!! ![]()

Hahaha that really sounds like THE perfect gym. The religious and Greek mythology aspect makes it that much more appealing. lol
Is there a reason why ya’ll seem to lift exclusively Raw? Like no belt or anything?? Just preference?
