This will be my first post on T-Nation, and judging by the comments Ive read so far on this thread, I think I will enjoy this site. I want to say thanks for all the positive comments everyone has had about my training partner pure_country. Especially all the condolences you all have given him with his recent losses. He is one of the hardest working guys I know, and I’m very fortunate to have him as a training partner and friend.

At the insistence of pure_country, ill be posting my training logs on here too. This is a day late, but here are my sets from our most recent training session.

Body weight 175

Olympic ATG squats
bar x 5
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 5
245 x 5
275 x 5
135 x 20 - no wraps, or belts, hamstrings to calves depth and walked out

Also did a lot of pull throughs with band resistance (Not for sure on exact resistance)
Nice to see you here mr Owens!!! And very good work, look forward to seeing your strength and size explode!! Thanks for the kind words!!! So everyone knows / owens_1987 is my boy and he puts his heart into every session or else he wouldn’t be training with me!!! Let’s get em bro!
Thanks PC! I do my best to give it 100% every session. Its impossible not to push myself to the limits with you around, lol.

Finally figured this damn site out. It’s tough to really do much on your phone while at work. Just to give some insight on myself I played football/basketball in high school was a decent sized youngin at around 6’1" and during my seasons I stayed in the 188-195lb range. Slipped up fractured my left femur as a freshman in football went back and mentally couldn’t recover (very agonizing injury) ended up quitting after around 8 years of football.

Then I played another season of basketball got pissed at the coach quit that too. Therefore I discovered alcohol drank every free chance I had. Got a job in a fastfood restaurant and with these I began to gain weight and quick. I returned to lifting the later part of last year and going by what I had always been taught I was doing all the right things the wrong way.

The pure country came along and enlightened me and we became pretty close really quick because on a personal level we can relate in more ways than one. Now I have been training with PC and he is in the process of helping me get down to a more preferable (by myself) body fat %. He instructed me of the correct way to cut down and I was at around 236lbs with roughly 21% bf and within maybe a week of the intermittent fasting diet he has me doing on top of conditioning and training within around 2 weeks I was between 225 and 228lbs (unsure about body fat%).

I’m very very busy I work third shift at a mental health institution I’m an officer at a volunteer fire dept. And I’m also in college. But hopefully this week I can begin giving updates with a log as PC has requested.
YES!!! Glad you made it here!! Thanks for the kind words man!! Very proud of you!!! Our gym is coming together and getting better everyday!!! Today is 3" deficit deadlifts no belts, were also finishing the platform tonight try to get pics, picked up a few 5’s and 2.5’s, gonna order a texas power bar soon, trying to also find a good competition bench and a better rack…any ideas from anyone here?!

We also are trying to think of a hardcore gym name, any ideas appreciated, we all enjoy the bible, greek mythology, intellectual things as well as hardcore things, we are all pretty religious so any of that is accepted in our gym, not required though! Hope to throw up a decent log tonight and maybe some videos!!! :)
Hahaha that really sounds like THE perfect gym. The religious and Greek mythology aspect makes it that much more appealing. lol

Is there a reason why ya’ll seem to lift exclusively Raw? Like no belt or anything?? Just preference?
Basically the more you support the less you use is my theory…I am kind of an “old school” guy and just wanted to push my body as hard as possible so i figured no crutches this time around, I’m sure there will be some belts/wraps/etc used, but for now i just want to push myself as far as possible without the aid of equipment, oh and i believe you involve more muscles so therefore more muscular hypertrophy  I still wanna be a bodybuilder too ya know haha

Hope everyone is enjoying the thread!!!

Guess its time for me to chime in with my log from tonight

185 x 5
225 x 5

315 x 5 (straps)

245 x 11 - ground rep set

Babell rows 135 x 30 rest pause set
Shrugs 225 x 20, 185 x 20

As Pure_country said, we trained in some insane heat today, so things were miserable at times, but I loved it.

We had a pretty good training session today even though we had to withstand some heat. I know I said I would try to provide a log beginning this week but when I’m training I don’t worry about weight that much I just go with what I can handle at the moment so I’m kind of blank minded. I apologize, but I will try my best to begin a log on paper so I can begin providing you all with one. Also if you need any motivation what so fucking ever just talk to PC the man is a guru.

PC considering its 1am ill just post this quote on here because I’m sure you’ll see this before we talk again. Just randomly came in my head I have heard it before but: “Respect is not given, it is earned.” Figured you would enjoy this since you’re big on respect bro.

My log from tonight is basically the same as PC’s except I had to leave before the rows and shrugs due to family issues. I can’t use a hook grip like him so, I used double overhand. This grip was fine but, had to switch to a mixed grip on the last two reps of 345x8. Reps destroy my grip when it’s DOH. Everyone worked hard and we rolled through things regardless of the heat. Everyone is looking good! I expect us to all start hitting big numbers soon!

A side note: PC and I have always pushed each other so, you’ll notice I try to keep up with him in whatever we do. By training with him it forces me to push myself and it’s an aspect of training I just can’t do without. We have trained together, on and off due to school and work, for nearly four years. Now with the addition of Owens and godfather, I, hoping we will continue to push each other to be even better. Each training session is a new challenge. Some days it’s hard to find the motivation to do any of this but, as long as we have each others back and continue to push to be the best we can be, we will all continue to become stronger and bigger. ALSO, thanks to everyone that views this thread. It gives us something to be accountable for. Helps give me motivation and I’m sure the others here feel the same.

PC I dont exactly see where you are getting looking strong on paper I literally sound like a puss…(Im screaming things in my head that aren’t fit to post on here) :frowning: I WILL GET THERE!!!

Again, my training day was similar to pure_country’s. His weights moved smoother, by far but, I tried lol. Also, triceps gave out on my last set of JM’s…I only did 6 reps.

Everyone did well and is making nice progress  we will get there!

To Mosley and godfather, first no Mosley my weights didn’t move smoother haha and GF- fuck the numbers you have been training only WEEKS!!! Give it time watch what happens for all of us, this ain’t my first rodeo and I have tricks up my sleeve, we WILL see dramatic improvements I promise you this!!! Look back at this log 3 months from now and say WOW!

PC I will piss on this log in three months. I’m going to bench your car squat you truck and DL a short bus.

GF-if you do that Ill pay you 1,000$
