The full lifts take a while longer to adjust to. It’s much more involved then the pulls to mid thigh! You have to finish the 2nd pull, pull youself under, keep the bar close, receive teh Snatch in a split second.
Keep at it, it’ll improve. Your going up well but going under the bar needs more work, it’s just a timing issue.
Do some Drop Snatch’s with the bar across your back. Squat down and punch out the bar in a Snatch Grip. See how fast you can do this with an empty bar. This speed should be FASTER WHEN YOU SNATCH as you can pull under the bar and sling shot yourself under it, obviously keeping the bar close.
Sounds good. I’ll work drop snatches into my session next time I go in, as I probably won’t be doing 18 sets of snatch!
Also, I should have some REAL weightlifting shoes coming in the mail soon!
Ok today’s session was on limited time - because it’s Sunday at the U all the flat rate parking areas were closed, so I was paying by the hour and didn’t have time to stay longer than I did. I DID however do drop snatches with an empty bar along with some 2nd pull drills during my warmup, but didn’t get them on video.
As mentioned earlier, after I watched Glenn’s 2nd pull drill I noticed I was initiating my 2nd pull bent over too far with my hips way back. When working on my 1st pull today I tried finishing in the recommended starting position in his 2nd pull drill.
Also, I learned today that I could control the weight easier in the catch position if I pushed my head forward.

Just got my weightlifting shoes in the mail the other day. Brought them to the gym today to break them in with some snatch bar work and plenty o’ squats (143kg x3, 125kg x3x6).
