Hi CT,
in one article from a few years ago (that I can’t find anymore, damn) you referred to snatch grip DLs as one of the best quad builders along with front squats, was wondering if you’re still of the same advice and if you’d say that they’re a better quad builder for someone who’s built to pull more than to squat (longer arms and femurs with short-ish torso).
Other than that, I was wondering: considering that SGDL are done with less absolute weight and with straps, if they were done with the same % and rep scheme of conventional deads, do you know if they’d also cause a lower CNS fatigue compared to conventional deads?
Also, what about snatch grip RDLs vs conventional RDLs? The few times I’ve done snatch grip deads from the floor it seemed that the wider grip forced a more vertical torso, taking some tension off the lower back.
What if someone were to do romanian deads with a wide/snatch grip - it would be possible to keep a more horizontal torso during the lowering phase, thus working hams and lower back the same way as in conventional RDLs, but for an increased ROM, while also hitting the upper back more due to the wide grip.
Does this make sense or am I missing something?
Thanks
