Good call on the weight class decision better safe than sorry in this category which I learned the hard way at my last meet.

Not great. DL numbers are really down because it is hard to bring my hips through for lockout. I am hoping to make up for a drop in DL with a bigger bench.

Goodness, no . . . just a playful way of saying you’re BUILDING MUSCLE!!!

This week will be my last serious training before the meet. My weight is perfectly positioned for the 114 weight class. I will be attempting max lifts this week in both squat and bench so I’ll post videos if I accomplish anything really great. It kills me that I have PRed in bench two weeks in a row but forgotten my camera both times.

This sounds like its going to be great meet for you, going to be fun, PR’s a go-go on the bench, sorry about your hips but but you’re killing what you can do

Monday’s squat day did not go well.

Today’s bench day went well. Truly, this is the best I have ever benched in my life.

Here are my planned attempts.

Planned opener 110 lb.

Planned second attempt [roughly] 116 lb.

Planned third attempt 121 lb.

I realize I am lifting my butt. The benches at my gym are not regulation height. I have never lost a bench attempt as a result of ass lift in some 30 platform appearances. And I don’t intend to start.

That is pretty much it for meet training. Will do some light ROM over the next week or so. Then it’s showtime.
