Snap's Return to PLing?

Squats yesterday did not go well. Tried to double 205 and failed on the second rep.

My son informed me that the squat record at his high school is 710. That is raw, of course. I had fun with that and can only imagine how high it was.

My pants are loose but the scale doesn’t move much. Tomorrow is bench. I had a really good session last week. So we’ll see how tomorrow pans out. Meet is three weeks from Saturday.[/quote]

I hear you on the weight. I’m 5 lbs up and 2 1/2 weeks out. I think I’ll make it. It’s funny how loose my clothes have gotten without a ton of scale movement.

I think your allowed to cuff smart alek teenage boys…

You’ll make the cut, just keep plugging away.

Are you doing any cardio or would that wreck the lifting?

Oh! Gosh. Where to start? Are you looking for recommendations on what gear to buy? Do you have a training partner who can help you with your gear and provide a spot? I cannot shirt myself or bench in gear without a liftoff and spot. I know there are people who do it, but I am not one of them.

Argh. I am 7 lb. up with 3 1/2 weeks to go. What meet are you doing? I notice definite looseness in clothes and more definition with only a 6 lb. loss. I have never eaten so much protein in my life.

I am but not enough. Kettlebell swinging and some treadmill intervals. I need to increase it. The amount I do will certainly not affect my strength levels.

Bench PR today! 118 lb shirted at 112 lb BW. I am so excited!

It’s just a local open meet that I’m doing classic (raw).

I hear you about the protein. I’m normally a carb junkie and I’ll be glad to see the back of tuna/chicken/raw almonds etc.

I don’t know how body builders do it.

At the moment, my skirt it hanging off my hips.

And you were plenty lean to start with. Are you trying to snag some raw records?

Tuna tastes like cat food to me at this point.

My coach asked about you just today. I told him you were cutting to the 57s.

A huge CONGRATS!

Congrats, Snap!

Cool. You’re making great progress.

You’re benching over body weight! I’m jelly.

That’s great news about your bench. I’m with you in the bench struggle camp where every lb is a battle.

By the way, I’m not cutting for records. We can’t set national records at an open meet. Even if we could, the current raw 57kg records were set my an M2 lifter in 2011. They are squat: 264, Bench: 165, Deadlift: 352 and total: 781. The woman that set them is a national legend.

I could set Provincial records because there are no M1 57 claimed yet for Classic. I could basically just show up. If I have an awesome meet, I may claim them. If not, I’m not taking them just to take them.

Good luck and keep me posted.

So I will just come out and admit that I am not going to make the 105s this cycle. My weight started climbing again last week even though I was eating 100% clean. It took me days to get it back to where I was the previous week. I don’t want to get close but not close enough. Worried about my squat suit, which is too loose already in the upper hip/waist/strap areas with no time for alterations. I am sitting at 112.75 right now and plan to just stay here till meet time. No food restriction. No water restriction. Just clean eating. I will try for the 105s another time when I am starting from a position of needing to lose 7 pounds rather than 12. You can call me names. It’s okay.

My training has been all over the place. DL sucks. I can’t pull anything. I blame in on my errant hip. Squat is unpredictable. I hit 210 today and it was clean and fast. Bench is going through the roof for me. Can’t figure out why.

My goal for this meet is to have fun. I tend to be a moody bitch at meets. Way overly intense. There is no need for that. So I just want to have fun. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Your body just doesn’t want to go down in weight for now, we can improve and work hard on our bodies but we can’t always really fight it, for me its always counter-productive. Nothing wrong with wanting to have fun at some you love to do. It’s also nice to get a different perspective.

I think that’s the best way to go. Wait until you have more time to drop. Right now I’m sitting at 3 1/2lbs up with 12 days to go. I’m not sure if I’ll do it but it’ll be close.

Most importantly…you bench is going through the roof. Who wouldn’t want that?
