Did I read this correctly? You are cutting weight? You are effectively my role model, being in my mid 40’s I find a lot of excuses to not lose the copious amounts of extra weight I have, yet I read your log and you are talking about cutting what little fat you may have and then doing water manipulation to make weight? Rock on, you are a much tougher person than me. Nice squats by the way.

Putting lipstick on a pig is completely pointless because it doesn’t make the pig any prettier. Putting a shirt on me is pointless because it doesn’t make me a better bencher.

I aim to put up my body weight in the bench. No way to get any records there!

Strong as always. I feel your pain regarding cutting weight. As a fat kid, I have to cut weight before every meet. I’m not a nice person about one week out.

Down 2.75 lb. at the end of week 1 on the diet.

Which isn’t so much a diet as an eating plan that specifies calories and guidelines for fat/protein/carb intake in order to achieve my goals. I have never closely monitored food intake before, so this is an interesting experience for me. Main takeaways are that I eat ALOT of fat and not enough protein. Also the high water intake is a bit challenging for me.

I do not like being tied to the scale. It messes with my head.

Today I was forced into breaking in my Velocity deadlift suit. I have owned this suit for two years and put it on twice. It is a lot of suit for my level of strength, which is not so impressive.

KB swing intervals 30 sec on/30 sec off for 10 minutes

^^Wow. These were fun. Not 100% sure I am swinging right. I do a hip hinge, not a squat, and bring the KB to shoulder height only. And very little swinging effort with my arms Also, I need more weight next time. I will definitely do these again. Way better than treadmill intervals.

I really got into KB swings, actually KB’s in general. Just make sure your head/neck keep in line with your spine of your back, I think others could probably explain it better. I try to make sure I have snappy hips & squeezy bum, doesn’t quite translate too much into oly lifts but some theories says it does to get power from the hips.

Trainer tells me to put hip into the kb swings and just swing up to shoulders, so sounds like you’re doing them fine.

Really, really hungry today. And the weight isn’t exactly dropping off. Understatement. And it’s virtually impossible to eat out without exceeding my fat/sugar allowance. The likelihood of hitting the 105 class in less than six weeks is looking like a pipe dream.

Did some conditioning today.Treadmill running intervals. And pushed the prowler for the first time. Sprints with one plate. I am embarrassed to say that is extremely hard stuff. Also hiking with dogs.

Squats tomorrow. See! There’s always a rainbow on the horizon.

Good work. The suit has to be the cause of the high squats because your form is always strong.

I know you do a lot of hypers, have you ever done one leg hypers? They are programmed a couple of times this cycle and I tried them for the first time the other day and it wasn’t pretty.
