I have always heard you want high glycemic carbs post-workout, but what about before?
Ben Pakulski talks about having only fat and protein pre-workout in order to keep mental focus and energy. Perhaps you could give that a try and see how your body reacts. Keep in mind that every body is different so you need to find what works best for you.
Ripsaw: I find it funny that if I eat fructose pre-workout, I get so sleepy it’s hard to finish my workout
However, if I eat anything else, even if it’s like chips or something, AND drink lots of water periworkout, I feel energetic…
Maybe someone more experienced on this topic will chime in and tell me why. Thanks!

I am all for eating a lot, but the second part of the statement is laughable.
Just an update
Today i followed John Meadows advice and had oats with pb and choclate syrup 30 minutes before workout, and then had Surge just before and during the work sets. hit a deadlift pr of 355x3, so all in all it was great.
