Hi Coach, hope all is well with you and the family. Do you think using the prowler/sled for the upper body is just as effective as it is for the lower body? I have been using the sled row and sled curl.
While I have never used it for conditioning for upper body, it is great for some GPP and extra work without causing too much muscle damage. Since there is no negative/eccentric phase of the movement, it’s concentric only, it works great to get some blood in the muscles, aiding recovery, as well as providing extra volume.
The only way I can think of for conditioning is to get a long thick rope, attach to the sled, and drag it to you hand over hand. Will get your back, forearms, biceps, and lungs fried.
Sled rows, sled curls, sled rear delts, sled press are all fine prowler/sled exercises but they are mostly for hypertrophy purposes.
I really like the suggestion of the rope pull with a prowler/sled attached at the end. I used that quite a bit when I was training my wife, Dani Shugart and Jelena Abbou in Colorado.
It can also be done standing
