Nature dude!

A little bit from today.

Did triples on the front squats, 10-12’s on rows. Then deads along with a bunch of curls & stuff.

It was all pretty kinetic with kids & dog and everything else so I kinda quit whipping the bar around and stuff. Got some work in and had lots of fun too. Kiddo was doing some homework, neighbor and her daughter came over to play. All good.

Feeling a lot better the past few days. The one medicine that was supposed to help started doing more harm than good, so stopped that and just had to play it by ear on doing/feeling and general health. Still kinda doing that. It’s always a work in progress.

Yeah Buddy!

I’m actually pretty shameless when it comes to tank tops (I have to be in order to even own one) and I’m almost officially in rona-mullet territory.

So yeah, 1987 here we come! IF I can hold out like another month without buzzing it off.

I’ll never be able to skate like Rick Tocchet, but damnit, I can grow some hair like his!

Some people listen to Eminem to get pumped. Some like heavy metal before cracking the weights.
And some aren’t ready to crush it until they are hearing a child read!

Take my man card away but that’s some cute stuff right there. Having kids softens you up!

He was reading me and little girl next door his report on all of the different types of energy- solar, wind, fossil, etc.and their different forms of generation.

Awesome little dude. Sometimes, a lot of times-I can’t believe what I’m seeing.

I think it’s time someone got/built a squat rack

I have thought of that a few times. Easy enough to build, I just don’t have anywhere to put it. So many holes though.

No lifting today, but here’s a little something different:

A nice cross sectional view of a root ball.

That one has this humongous mass of surface roots. Turned most of the front yard upside down. Took the better part of Tuesday and half of today.

@Edgy and @ChickenLittle @FlatsFarmer figured yinz might get a kick out of that.

Holy crap! What a huge job. That’s a shit ton of sawdust.

It has about the same consistency as shredded mulch. A lot of people like it for bedding and whatnot.

There’s a mini-skidsteer way in the back of one of the vids that I used for cleanup and regrading- and made a pile of grindings that was about 5 cubic yards.

Thinking about it a bit, there was a silver maple stump in back that was probably 80 or so inches across, much bigger, but without the surface roots that only took a couple of hours.

I just started looking at your back ground and maybe I missed it but I’m wondering what caused your heart attack? A friend at work recently had the widow maker when a chunk of plaque lodged in a valve or whatever in the heart but they cleared it out and after the paddles etc and stints and stuff he’s on lots of drugs and doing fine. You said it happened about 4? I’ve been waking up lately around 4?

damn - thats a lot of roots!

Fun way to spend Tuesday!

What machine is the grinder hooked up to? My neighbor just got a CAT skidsteer and he’s been raising hell making mud pits everywhere.

So am I! :joy: Between me and my 3 brothers and 1 sister, we all have some type/symptoms of heart disease, so there appears to be a genetic component. Theres high blood pressure and cholesterol and all of the usual suspects. I smoked cigarettes quite a bit for most of my adult life so that covers the lifestyle choices, and as the cardiologist put it, have “an individual anatomical anomaly” in my circumflex
(like a cross up or loop of some sort) which causes the blood to slow and form blockage.

I hope he continues to do well! I’m on a pretty good hand full of things myself. The statins can get pretty rough finding what works and what makes you feel like a wrung out washcloth.

No real way of telling when it started, but that’s when I woke up. 4:02 am. There are some interesting stats and figures on that. I don’t want to scare anybody, but on the safe side I’d say talk to your doc to see if anything adds up to warranting further investigation. I didn’t realize I was having a myriad of symptoms and warning signs for really quite a while. A couple of years on the outside, and many in the months preceding.

It’s a strange thing. Even the docs and nurses have said that some people can do everything right (which I did not) and still, bam! Gone. Others can do everything wrong and never skip a beat. I’m somewhere in the middle.

It is a stand-alone piece of equipment. Similar to this

That’s an older control/work station.

The mini-skid is like this-

That thing is too much fun. Really powerful and well built, takes SOOOOO much grunt work off our hands. Has buckets and whatnot too for clean up, scooping, grading.

opens door, looks around

Hello?

slowly closes door, backs away

Still here, still kickin’! :+1:

Yesterday was like backyard strongman. Took down a nuisance/pita tree for the neighbor so we can put up a trampoline for the kids. Did do some pulls with 220-250, but just to entertain the little ones.

Lots of log carrying, brush dragging, and a nice bonfire to replenish with smores!:relaxed:

Was supposed to go weld up some stuff on the bucket of the mini-skid, but it’s intermittently a torrential rain and honestly, my ass is kicked.
