Haha, yeah. I can find all sorts of “right times” to fit in 4 minutes of cardio, e.g. turn on “exercise snacks” playlist and start cleaning the kitchen, then Taylor Swift comes on suggesting I Shake it Off, so I do, with gusto, but climb the stairs to the room with all the actual equipment in it? That has to be scheduled, and even still I’m generally there 10 minutes past the appointed time.
Hmm. I haven’t invited Buttons to join me because I’m afraid of the treadmill for her. Maybe I should let her come up for lifting. I could see that being a nice interactive time. Although the futon in that room serves as my bench, and I noticed last time she was in there she walked right onto it. Do I want her lying on the bed I’m trying to use as a bench, with pillows precariously stacked to give me some lift? Maybe, maybe.
The dog hazard I’ve run into especially with benching and any type of floor exercise is the nose nuzzle. They wait for the perfect time too (for them) to stick their nose right in your ear, then lick the entire side of your face.
That’s how they getcha.
She runs her little butt off! Really though, she’s pretty old and doesn’t like the hassle. He’s a herding dog and just wants to round her up and keep her somewhere. Where? Who knows? But he definitely wants to. Alot!
Meh. I keep trying to find the balance between lifting to maintain/gain some strength, fatigue, and being useful at work and around the house- but it’s a moving target.
Some days, like today, I feel pretty good so far. Last week I went out with the tree stuff a couple of times and was just trashed. Then some fixin/weld/fab stuff and I was like dead for a couple days. I hit it last night because I knew I didn’t have anything scheduled today.
Meh. Just did 5.2 miles in 20 min. Energy has been low lately, and this wasn’t much different. All things considered, I’m not complaining. Might even just have been too close to a good sized dinner. It just didn’t feel good.
Edit: @ChongLordUno I hate to say it, but I think that was an error. Sometimes I’ll scratch the time element upon realizing that I left distance on my measured t/d from the warm up. I may have done that without realizing it on that one.
Then curls with like 35 lbs on ez curl, 30 reps. Was going to go for 100 reps in as few sets as possible, but a swordfight broke out with the kiddo. He has good timing.
We also worked on snatches and c&j with him using a broom stick and me just with a straight bar, fast. No idea how many. It was all good though. We had fun. Lots of running around in the yard & stuff. Did battle with some wild grape vines and whatnot. Kiddo took a rebound to the noggin. He’ll live, but it will be with a new respect for grapevines.
Actually, I don’t know much about it except that it’s a really cool concept that makes you wonder if nature is really just a random mistake or was intelligently designed
Well it is interesting. There are some interesting aesthetics built into the natural world.
I fabricated frames for art/stained glass for religious architecture for a while, and there were some common reoccurring ratios of height to width, radius and whatnot which also turned out to be very/most appealing. Usually right about at the golden ratio.
Like, a typical arch shaped frame is designed to be the with of the radius of the segment of the arch, and approximately 3 times the height of its own width.
