word. had that happen to me after oil changes…lame :frowning:

Sometimes I think our cars fuck with us just to stress us out some more.

Like when you have someone look at your car bc the check engine light is on, but when they look, it’s turned itself off.

If you still have your manual there should be a way to turn the check oil light off. In mine its some combination of turning the car but not the engine on, pumping the break, and 3-4 bitch slaps with a sledgehammer.

Sounds like a car I used to own. It was held together by a bungee cord, though.

Today’s workout:
I have been asked not to work legs from today till Saturday. So today’s workout was short.

Warm-up

Incline DB press 3x11(25)

Cable rows: 3x11(80)

Inchworms: 3x11

DB curls: 3x11(20)
Tricep cable extensions: 3x11(15)

I added some stuff, I just didn’t feel this was enough volume to justify my PWO CHO.

Rope curls: 4x11(25)
Rope pulldowns 4x11(25)

OH shoulder press 3x11(20)
Upright rows: 3x11(40)

I don’t feel like I work my arms/shoulders enough so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to add a few things. I was about to throw in some lateral/front raises and face pulls, but some guy interrupted my workout to chat. Conversation got weird quick and by the time he left, I was disoriented.I had to get out, quick.

Hi Sindie. It sucks balls coz I had to call in at work and tell them I was going to be late…again. I think my boss, half-didn’t believe me.
The idiots looked guilty the minute they looked under my hood. The manager gave me a discount on my ‘next’ visit. I don’t know if I’m impressed enough with their mediocrity to go back.
What’s it gonna cost me next time around :-S

what assholes at your car repair place!! that’s way lame! :frowning:

what happened with the guy at the gym? …sounds ominous!
and thanks for stopping by my blog :stuck_out_tongue:

Just returning the favor! Yeah, the conversation went from ‘are you an athlete?, what do you do in terms of training?’ to ‘are you married? i don’t see a ring on your finger…’
I mumbled something and made a hasty exit.

The worst part is it was near all the benches are, so all the guys who were benching and spotting each other which was ALOT of people stopped to listen because the guy was really loud and spoke with alot of hand gestures. I wanted to disappear or at least hide in my Ipod case…coz now I feel everyone knows my business.
I’m considering changing my training time.

Today’s training was BRUTAL!!
Did the usual warm-up, activation.

Today we did Sumo Stiff Leg Deadlifts…oh so strange.

45(bar)x5x1
115x3x1
135x5x1
185x5x1
205x5x1
215x3x1(should have been 5 but my grip failed, as usual)

Cable pull throughs 1x5, 1x15

Prowler pushes(evil at its best)
1x no weight(50yds)@60%
1x50(50yds)@70%
1x60 "
1x90 "@80%
1x105 "
I was alternating handles, lower and upper. This was just the warm up.
Then

4x50(100yds)@ 100% upper handles only
3x50(100yds)@ 100% upper handles
3x50(100yds)@ 100% lower handles

Crazy fun. I hope we do this next weekend. My poor little legs are fried.

sumo sldl?? my god! nice workout

I know, I’d never heard of them either. I’m not sure where he got those. But they were fun. The prowler really kicked my ass, couldn’t get any better!

He didnt understand it when I tried to explain it to him. This is where he got them.

CBear, it’s you I have to thank for my screaming lower back and hammies this morning.

Thanks.

oh lord…so that’s another thing i have to try!!

your program seriously keeps you busy with all these differant exercises! that would make me feel like a moron, because it takes so long to get form down on anything i’d get tired of trying by the time i had it i’b e ready to leave. :stuck_out_tongue: i see some of the stuff he has in his articles and for me it’d be like performing gymnastics routines.

i must be retarded because i look like a total crab/crustation doing sumo dead lifts.TOTAL SPAZZ.

hope your sunday’s going well

thanks for posting the vid Cbear, i’m really jealous you guys got to meet The Lou :stuck_out_tongue: thanks , i’m going to try and learn from this :stuck_out_tongue:

Trust me, Sindie there are days when I go to the gym and feel like a complete moron, and I know tomorrow is one of them because I’m starting a new program. I hope the gym is empty-ish, so that I have enough room and time to try and get a feel of some of the exercises.

But honestly after the first week, it gets better. Then it’s easy street from then on.You should try it, nice little change. Some of the variations put a new spin to it and work different muscles as well. Lately, I’ve been really into the overhead squat, I don’t have it down to a point where I can put alot of weight on the bar, but I enjoy doing it. I saw your video…did you squat/press 95lbs!!!
Dang, you’re strong!

i love overhead squats!! they are hard though, i have to think about my balance alot. i do front squat push presses, that one on the vid is 135 :stuck_out_tongue: i’m really proud of that bit of nerdyness–i don’t think it has an real use in strenght building i just like to do those :stuck_out_tongue:

hope your new program monday goes well

hahaha, you’re welcome!!!

however, if your lower back is hurting, it means you used it… no bueno. It should be your hams, glutes, and traps that are screaming. does jeff have you use a belt? its helpful when you have something to brace your abs/breath against, keeping your core stable, so u dont flex your lumbar spine unnecessarily.

Yeah, My glutes don’t seem to fire all that well. I have to do major activation to get them in the mix, but everything else was/is sore. My lower back will always scream because I have a spondylolisthesis which tends to pinch a nerve every now and then. Nothing serious but it can be a real pain sometimes.
The way he showed me was somewhat different than the vid because I wouldn’t bring the bar to rest on the floor. It was more like a wide stance SLDL where I’d get as low as my hammies would let me then pull.
The pull throughs and the prowler pushing may have added to my misery. But it was a fun variation. I’m gonna watch the video again and see where I may have screwed up.
Thanks for the tip, CBear.

If you can do squat push presses, your OH squats must be off the chain! I know I was tripping when I said 95lbs. I apologize, the prowler is an evil tool. Evil enough to kill off a couple of brain cells. :-H

I was supposed to start a new program today but I’m abit stiff from Saturday, so I did some low weight/ high rep squats to get the blood flowing again then I’ll start the new program tomorrow.

Incline DB press:
1x11(15), 4x11(20)

ATG Back squats:
1x10(bar), 2x10(65), 2x8(85)

Front squat:
1x10(65), 1X5(85)

Cable rows: 4x10(45)

Planks: 3x45secs (90sec rest in between)
