LOL…

Today’s training with WW:
My hamstrings were SORE this morning. I woke up and tried going at them with some foam rolling and some tenis balls for my glutes coupled with some static streching but it did’t help so we went light/moderate weight today. I’ve been banned from doing SLDLs for this coming week and sprints strictly outside, no treadmill.

Warm-up, activation.

Back squats:

75x3x1
95x3x1
115x3x1
135x3x5

Single leg reverse Hypers:
2x20 (body weight)

Sled pull-throughs:
9x10x1
115x10x1
135x10x2
145x10x1
155x10x1

Sled dragging(recovery):
125x2
150x2

I HATE sore hamstrings… SO tough to work on them. Have you tried Tiger Balm, or any of the other analgesic options? I find that epsom salt baths help as well.

btw… NICE progress. got all caught up today.

Do the Zercher’s put a lot of tension on your elbows?

Thanks for stopping by, CBear. No, I have not tried Tiger Balm, I’ll go poke around the health food store for it tomorrow. Depending on how bad it is tomorrow, I’ll try soaking in an epsom salts bath. Sore hammies are so debilitating…:stuck_out_tongue:

Yes it’s not too bad if you wrap the bar with a towel or ‘pussy pad’.

Today’s training:

60deg Incline DB press:
30x5x4
25x2x4

Chins(Assisted): 7x4

Dips: 7x4

Reverse grip BB curls:7x4 (60)

These things murder my forearms. They are soo fricking uncomfortable. I get a really sharp pain runiing up the radial side of my forearm. I don’t think it’s the amount of weight I’m using because the same thing happens with lower weight. The pronation is just so darn uncomfortable!

Since I had some time to kill, I decided to dedicate some time to Zerchers
So Zercher Nurture (ATG):
65x5x1
85x5x1
105x5x1
125x3x1

It wasn’t too bad on the arms or legs. I stopped cause I felt abit of pain in my sternum. I have to figure out how to get the bar closer, boobs are in the way :stuck_out_tongue:

ouch! sorry about your pain in the arms…blah! sternum pain as well!

well…i can’t relate to the boob problem however , i can only hypothesize at how boobs can be a problem! nice work though !!!

I tend to go with the Bad Pain is bad, and Good Pain is good philosophy when lifting. This sounds like bad pain, maybe the movement just isn’t for you? There are somethings my body just won’t do, maybe this is one of yours?

LMAO! You’re not missing much, trust me.

It’s really more like a painful stretch. My arms aren’t used to being in that position. But I agree with you bad pain when lifting is nothing to make light of.
How’s you’re training going? Have you picked a specific program?

Oh, I read it as nerve pain.

Yeah I’m doing a chopped up version of this http://figureathlete.tmuscle.com/article/training/the_cardio_conundrum&cr= where I’m considering rolling as steady state cardio. I put a way wordier version of what I’m doing in my log.

Good program, lots of meat and 'taters in there. Huge energy turnover with total body. I can’t find your log by the way. Either it’s disappeared or I’m getting old.

Today was a day off so I decided to switch it up and do some SS cardio on the elliptical for 45 minutes.
Lifting starts again tomorrow.

i’m thinking of doing more surprise sorta ss cardio as well. that’s good that you do stuf fonyour off days, its a total bonis!!

i have none at all–cardio-- in my stuff now, but it is kinda nice sometimes, good to zone out with. i dunno i say that then wake up, laugh and just forget about it :stuck_out_tongue: blah!

I moved to Combat Sports, I got tired of being ‘other’.

Ah, ok. Coz I thought I was losing my marbles, there for a second.

If it’s not one thing, its another. I’m very interested to see how this week ends. For a minute I contemplated not traing, then I realized it’s what keeps me sane. When everything else doesn’t make sense…

Today’s training:

Triple set
SA DB Row 5x6(40)
Zercher squats 5x6(95)
OH press 5x6(20)

Sprinter sit-ups 3x12
Med ball weave throughs 1x30, 1x24, 1x26

Jump rope 5minutes.

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with my PWO nutrition to see what would fit best. I tried whey and malto but I’m so insulin resistant, my body fat started to climb.
In the past I’ve used cream of rice + whey with good results while on a bulk. I’m using this combo PWO for this week then I’ll get my bf tested at the end of the week.

Today was an off day and I really didn’t want to drive to the gym so I did jump rope intervals for 23 minutes.
It was a good day till my ‘check engine’ and the ‘check oil’ lights came on simultaneously. The irony is I just got my oil changed today at a place that was highly recommended. Someone messed up somewhere, which means I have to take it back in tomorrow morning.
