Skye Log

I wish you all the best in your marathon endeavour. I’m an endurance junkie myself but I’ve had to cut back. I occasionally swim or run every once in a while nowadays.Just for fun.
The changes will come. Sometimes, nothing happens for a while then you wake up one morning and notice big changes.

Thanks Skye,

This is my last marathon. After that I’m retiring (lol) I can’t have the body that I want with the running part. Maybe I can learn to smoke a 5K but I would rather look hot doing it that slug out on the TM for 3 and 4 hours at a time.

I love lifting heavy, love it. I might do something more if I thought I really could.

I hope the kapow factor happens cuz its frustrating to work this hard and really not SEE any changes. I feel thinner but my measurements the other day actually showed me staying the same or a smidge increase. Its just so strange though cuz I really do feel thinner. So hopefully WW will be able to give a thumbs up that what I’m doing is really working. Its hard to critique your own body.

No change is better than packing on the pounds. If your diet is clean and your workouts consistent and your strength is going up, you must be gaining muscle.
Don’t despair.
I have a love/hate relationship with the treadmill. I miss it sometimes and then there are days I can’t even stand a 5-minute warm-up.

Today’s workout:

Warm up, activation

Triple set
SA DB rows 1x6(40), 5x6(45)
Zercher squats 1x6(70), wasn’t feeling Zerchers so Iswitched to Back squats: 5x6(145)
OH press 1x6(15), 5x6(20)

Sprinter sit-ups: 3x12
Med ball weave throughs: 3x30

Jump rope 10 minutes

not so hot on the zercher’s??? i’ve thought of trying them, but haven’t yet. seem like front squats would be about the same?? i’ve never tried them though so i have no idea. nice on the oh preses!! :D!!!

you’re cat is a love by the way! what a cutie! :stuck_out_tongue:

I love those Zercher squats. I have them on my schedule today. I’m starting with 60 I think I really can do 70 pounds.
I have the Sprinter Sit-ups today to. I hate those things. Except that I love them too cuz I know they are working my abs great.
I feel the same way about the tready. I love it but hate it at the same time. Only a few more runs and them I’m done.

Hey Sindie, how’s GVT going? Zerchers are a pain if you don’t wrap the bar and at times my core refuses to cooperate…bleh!
Yeah it’s kind of like a front squat but you hold the weight in the crook of your arms. Both are great for quad/core emphasis. I feel like I have more control over the bar with the front squat than the zerchers.

Cat’s an attention hog. She walks onto the keyboard of my laptop to make her presence known. I had to take a photo of that. But she’s an absolute sweetheart. Old and cranky, too.

Hey Kathleen, the medball weave throughs are what get me. I hate those things! All 3 sets of 30…lol I have one more week, then I’m not sure what happens next.
When’s you’re marathon?

Today’s workout:
This morning at 6 am did interval sprints, 20 minutes.
In the evening high incline treadmill walking for 30 minutes.
Feeling really smug about this very productive off day.

 that was a very productive off day! :)!

gvt is coming to an end, ah ha! its great, but i’m on week five-ish and benching is HARD for me let alone ten reps for ten sets crap. so last few days and i’m gonna go to timed stuff i guess thanks for asking :)!

My marathon is June 6th. So a week from Saturday, not too far and I’m glad.

I did Zercher’s last night at 70 lbs. I was thrilled too since I used the longer bar as opposed to the shorter bar.

My ab work was better too. I got through 1.5 sets before I really started struggling.

Today is metabolic “*ell” day and tomorrow is chin day. Which is now my new fav.

I have one week left too and then we will see what happens next. I’ll be done running so hopefully some more lifting. I love lifting heavy.

Okay so I finally re-caught-up with your log.

You’re doing a rocking job. I sometimes feel with all this PL type training that I’m not working hard enough. Especially as I get closer to meet time because my volume decreases so dramatically. Maybe I’ll have to stalk your training (and everyone elses) after this meet (I’m semi-retiring… no meets on the immediate horizon) to find something new.

I actually envy your PL workouts. Go in, lift heavy shit, low reps…peace out. I sometimes resent all the frouh-frouh stuff I have to do

I haven’t even attempted benching. How much are you benching right now?

You do get stronger. IO found that the ab wheel strengthened my core quite a bit. I like to go back every once in a while and do a couple of sets.

I’m gonna try and do Zerchers this weekend on an off day, exclusively. I think if I give my technique more attention, I could learn to love them.
Next week is my last week on TBA, not sure what’s next. I would like to concentrate on my goal of DLing 315 with abit of accessory work, who knows… I’ll consult with the Wolfman this weekend.

Todays workout:

Triple set
SLDLs: 3x11(135)
Flat bench DB press: 3x11(25)
Pulldowns: 3x11(70)

Overhead Squats: 3x11(55)
Half inchworms: 3x11

DB curls: 3x11(20)
SA cable tricep ext: 3x11(10)

now i’m really intrigues, i must try these zerchers, i need some core attention , maybe they can help me !

my bench bites…BLhh! my max is a strong and good 135, and a awkward weirdo 140, as in not really anything i’d want to display to anyone who knows anything about form. I’ve been doing gvt with 105 and sometimes 110 when i’m feeling turbo, and its HARD for me.

oh and how the hell can you do those sldl?!! that is impressive! i highly doubt i could do that–nice job! takes alot of balance for me to do just the bar, so i get frustrated and refuse to do them :stuck_out_tongue:

135 is pretty good. Remember not too manyy women bench, I being one of them.

I think you misunderstood SLDLs as in stiff leg, not single leg. I couldn’t do Single leg deads with that much weight even if I tried.

Today’s training:
Off day so I did Interval sprints in the morning for 20 minutes and then went for a swim with my bes friend this evening since I blew her off last weekend…it’s only fair.
Tomorrow is training with Jeff.

oh i did misunderstand! god i have those single bastards
