thats a fuckload of squats, skye. i’d hate to be your legs tomorrow. in a good way.
sometimes i dont understand people who have to wait for equipment. i know my gym is small and shitty and everything, but do ya’ll ask people if you can work in? unless someone is on a timed set, im getting my shit done or killing people in my way. I’ve never been refused a “work in” request, unless its to say, “oh i have just one more set left then you can have it.”
maybe i have more polite people at my gym. i think you bitches should just start kicking the assholes in your way. really.

Oh, I’ll most of the time ask to work in. Except with the squat racks. Those I want ALL to myself when I’m using them. Unless a hottie asks to work in with me. Then I’m happy to share.
Damn, my old ass needs to learn to stay up abit later. I miss out on all the action.
Claire, my legs are rather rubbery this morning.
I usually hoard the squat rack but I’m ok with hustling anyone who’s dicking around in the squat rack like the chick who was deadlifting 65lbs with great form, might I add. Only problem with that picture is she was using the squat rack to load and unload her bar(65LBS!, that is), while we have a gorgeous deadlifting PLATFORM she could use. All because she wanted to be next to her boyfriend who was using the other rack for rows.
Beginning of the quarter for us is like New Years, all over again. By week 5, it’s only the regulars.
Cable rows (tempo)
1 x 12(80)
1 x 12(90)
3 x 8(100)
1 x 4(110)
OH DB press
3 x 10(20)
Lateral raises
3 x 8(15)
21s x 3 sets(40)
French press
2 x 10 with 35lb DB until some nutjob stole it. I gave him the dirtiest look I could muster. Then when he was about to bring it back, I told him to keep it.
OK… so I am late to the party… but can I still comment on how awesome your glutes and hammies are? And yeah… you are making me nostalgic for the days when I did lots o’ pukey stuff… maybe it’s a good time to add it back in since I am not doing too much CNS intensive lifting right now…?

Rachelle, I don’t flip tires n shit. Now THAT’s pretty awesome in my book.
Molly, missed you! Where’ve you been, Busy-body? You need to tell me more about intermittent fasting and adding more lean mass…VERRY interesting.
Nlmain, I get all my upper body stuff in on one day. ALOT of volume has definately helped me get alot stronger!

SKYEEEEEE!!! I have been trying to keep my head above water with work, family, boyfriend, training, etc… I seriously feel like time is just flying by…
OK… I have to be honest… I am not fully read-up on how everything with the intermittent fasting works… but from what I understand, when you go into a fasted state, your body actually responds by INCREASING it’s ability to absorb/utilize nutrients, because it’s not expecting to get much food anytime soon… so it has to be ready to REALLY USE anything it might ingest all the while tapping into stored fat reserves for energy/nutrients. So when you DO eat, the hormones in your body are optimized to make sure that you get as much nutrition as possible from what you are eating.
Also, the body is constantly moving from a catabolic to anabolic state and back… it’s just how it works. We CAN’T be anabolic all the time. But because there is a negative feedback loop… (catabolic leading to anabolic and vice versa) if you “pull the pendulum back REALLY FAR” in one direction (i.e. send your body into a catabolic state) then when you feed again, your body goes back into a VERY ANABOLIC state… HOWEVER, let me clarify… JUST BECAUSE you are in a catabolic state, doesn’t necessarily mean that you are losing muscle tissue… it just means that the state that your body is in LENDS ITSELF to that potentially happening, and JUST BECAUSE you are in an anabolic state, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are BUILDING muscle tissue… many other conditions/factors come into play. So… if you allow yourself to go into a catabolic state, while taking a small amount of amino acids to minimize muscle loss, and THEN have a large feeding and dump a bunch of food and nutrients into your body when your hormones are primed for uptake/utilization, coupled with a body where you have damaged muscle fibers during your workouts, then your body’s immediate response is to be in a VERY ANABOLIC state… but at this point, all the other factors are in place to actually BUILD MUSCLE during this very anabolic state… make sense? =D
I hope so… and like I said… this is my very crude understanding at this point… I am still reading and doing more research on it… =D
Yeah, very nice workout! I like how you intersperse your metabolic stuff between sets. That sounds like a nice way to break up the workout (and smart with summer/bikini season just around the corner)!
