Oh, do I want to see a video of this “bag work”.
I can’t get my legs to parallel yet on the hanging raises, but working on it.

Kimba, I have a major aversion to videos.
Blame it on Jeff.
Skye, your training looks awesome. And I am trying to catch up on what the hell is going on with this 900 calories nonsense…and if it is this Jeff/wet dog character who always says chicks need to do things “healthy” and “eat more,” well, enraged is word you could call me.
What exactly are your bench concerns? Funny enough I was having a conversation with the guys at the “gym” (I am going to officially call it the “hole” from now on…I’ll try to post pics) I train at, and honestly, we came to the consensus that deadlifting poses much more of a threat to back injury if your form is off than any other lift. I find that benching, if I can get a killer bubble, gets my back sore but no more than squatting leaves your ass and hams sore or really any other DOMS inducing movement.
I could not know what the fuck I am talking about since I just skimmed the conversation in your journal, so feel free to disregard my blah blah bullshit if you please:)

That’s cool.
Can I just put on gloves and start pounding the crap out of the bag or do I have to know something?

For you, I will take my camera to the gym ![]()
It always helps to have some technical knowledge so if you know someone who could teach you the basic stance jab, cross, hook, etc you would get more out of your ‘bag work’.
Hold the thought, though. I’ll try and get some video tomorrow or hunt around youtube.
EDIT: here’s a good one

Hi Shauna, thanks for stopping by. My fear of benching falls under tha class of “Irrational Phobias”. There’s just something about a weighted bar coming at me coupled with gravitational pull…no thanks.
I’ll take my chances with DLs and squats.

That looks really fun. On Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Days, “bag work” could save some lives.
Ask for a spot!!
Or when you first start out, you can do just the bar… But I know you can handle more weight than that ![]()
wow skyel, i just caught up with your bag workouts…that looks freakin awesome. and i’m trying to see what this Muay Thai is about…i think i’m skeered just looking at the videos that popped up on you tube.
i’m with you on the benching, it just doesn’t call me like the squat rack. but i’m hesitantly trying to work it in a bit but for now, i don’t forsee it being one of my big goals to conquer.
i think a lot of us are very interested in the 900 kCal thing and ww, in addition to your aversion to video on account of him. so nosy i am…

Who’s doing Muay Thai? Skye? That’s awesome ![]()
Kimba- it’s quick, sweaty and pukey…saves my life on days I don’t feel like doing jack.
MIM- Spotter or no spotter, I hereby declare no benching for me. My 34Ds hide my lack of pectoral muscle development ![]()
Talenaah, thanks for stopping by. Nah, it’s not that scary. It saved my life three yrs ago. I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship with 20lbs of fat to prove it and I needed something to hit…really bad. I still have an urge every once in a while but the anger management classes are finally paying off.
Bobbi, I need to find a gym, first. I just found out the gym I used to go to was closed down. So, I have to ask around and find out where my former instructor now teaches, if he still teaches. Sucks hollow balls.
34D? goddamnit, woman.
between that and the muay thai I’m so ready to pick a fight with you.

holla!
Lol…
Claire, in case you hadn’t figure it out by now, all the cute shit at Victoria Secret comes in As and Bs. Once you start moving into C, shit starts to get ugly and by the time you hit D, you have the fugly flesh-colored soup bowls with the lace overlay and steel reinforcement. It’s just sad.

soupbowls FTW…sad, but so true Skye! my girl was measured as being DD, but she insists they are just Ds…she hates them and the search for bras is ridiculous…meanwhile, my barely Cs shrink as i lean up and she jokes that i need implants…wth. she is joking, but sometimes i wonder…
it has been declared, “No benching for Skye!”
you got a flaunt what you have, and work with what you don’t!! ![]()
I don’t even mess with VS…I’ve got C’s…but my back is so broad, I wear a 38-40(bandsize) At one time many moons ago, I was a 34B!
I have a feeling that may be in my future for a short time though…
34D!!! i’m not a boob girl but that made me drool.
