Yes, there is no end to little guys telling us that this is ALSO a strength forum. Thanks for pointing that out again. How strong are you?

This forum has helped me get stronger, helped me hit personal bests, and corrected many mistakes I was making in the past, but I’m not getting into a penis size competition with you over the Internet.

I’m so glad you are so big and strong, I’m happy for you. I really am. You are stronger than me, I’m not denying that. Good for you!

Most of your posts insult other people and put them down. Someone asks
advice, you are usually one of the first to pipe in and be a total ass to them. You may be 270lbs, but you’re not a nice person. You have 13000 posts on this forum, most of them negative towards others, that says alot about you.
How can you say most of his (13000) posts are negative when mostly all of the posts on the “physique and performance photos” are skinny kids asking if they should bulk or cut?
Hell,if they’re ignorant and don’t READ before posting, then you know what?
They’re gonna get a negative response. Most of the kids posting in the “pysique and performance photos” section deserve what they get.

Most of the people in there have been posting at no more than 160 pounds saying that they’re gonna compete.WTF?
Thats like walking into New York with a shirt saying “them bastards at the world trade center deserved what they got” and then bitching about how people were kicking your ass and calling you names.
I’ll say it one more time.
If you’re 160 pounds and gonna post about how you’re gonna compete, then you’re GOING TO GET FLAMED.

I’ll say it myself.
Yes!I’m guilty of bashing kids who are ignorant and don’t read before posting.
Yes sir.Hang me for it.

What says even more about you is that you felt the need to hop in this thread (one CLEARLY about those with muscular physique goals who happen to be skinny and how they should go about doing something about that) to tell us how muscles would hinder your ability to ski board and look like a particular MMA fighter even though you don’t even seem to be a fighter yourself. Why would you feel the need to do that?

On a bodybuilding forum?

I asked how strong you are since that is what you say your goal is. You didn’t answer. Is that really even a goal of yours?

There is a difference between people who have average or mediocre goals and those who have great goals. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in bodybuilding, powerlifting, MMA, cycling or whatever.

I can understand Prof X’s agitation with people who post pictures of themselves posing for their physiques to be judged when they do not have a physique as all.

My primary goal for most of my time training was to have a decent physique and put on some good size. I never even thought about posting pictures until I had reached a level of development that I thought was somewhat decent. Mainly because I didn’t want to be torn a new one by some of the senior members.

So I did what I had to do and got to a place where I had something to show for it. If you don’t have anything to show for it, don’t bother.

If you’re a windsurfer or cyclist, by all means, post photos of you in action. But don’t expect to put up pictures of yourself at 5’10 175lbs for advice on “what needs work.” The response will NOT be positive on a site with a large bodybuilding following.

Noone wants to see a skinny ripped physique that the person doesn’t plan on improving on. Because that says…“I’m perfect, here I am…discuss.”

If I’m a bodybuilder and post videos of me playing basketball on a basketball forum then I’ll get ripped to shreds if I suck. Likewise, if you’re a skinny, awesome basketball player, don’t post photos of you on a bodybuilding site at 6’1 175lb and expect to get praise for your physique.

I hopped in with a statement that I would rather look like Rich Franklin than Ronnie Coleman, you jump all over this like I’m trying to be an MMA fighter, which is not what I was saying. It’s like you’re a little kid that wants this place all to yourself, and anyone that doesn’t agree with you should go away. You need to learn to share.

I’m not even going to indulge you on this goals thing you are harping on. Obviously, being 5’11 and 270 is what defines you. If you think that makes you better than everyone else, great, you keep thinking that way.

The issue is that you jumped in hijacked the thread and contributed nothing to it. And you havnt yet ceased being a dick.

All I said was I’d rather look like Rich Franklin than Ronnie Coleman, and I’m the a-hole of the day.

What’s wrong with that; comming out swinging? Better than sitting in the dugout. Are you jealous because he’s bigger than you or gets more attention? Which is it? It surely can’t be because he’s aggressive towards those “idiots” as you call them. You wanted to take a swipe at them yourself, right?

Bullshit

The man is 6 3 about 210 your 5 11 270
Your built like a tree stump. Who would want to look like that stubby.

You dont look athletic. You look like the titantic!

Because those are the only choices in terms of physical goals. There are no other options. I think I passed up Rich Franklin’s development in the first year of serious weight training. If your goals are to be an ultimate fighter, why do you care what you look like so much to even have a goal like that?
I’d rather look like Rich Franklin than Ronnie Coleman as well. But keep in mind that we are talking about APPEARANCE. I’m sure that if someone was Franklin’s size and didn’t play a damn sport, they would be simply average.

It’s the fact that he is a great athlete that makes him special. The two should not (but usually are) confused. The determination, will, and application of sport underlying the physique is what is impressive, not the aesthetics of it. If he posted pictures of himself posing, I wouldn’t say, “Wow, your muscular and anaerobic endurance looks amazing!” I would look at size, proportions, leanness, symmetery, etc.

It’s like when Diesel Weasel posted a pic of him on creatine. He’s not special because of his physique. Maybe to the average person. He’s “special” because of his strength…intellectual capacities.

So if someone’s goal is to look a little better than average, like this 6’3, 210lb MMA guy, then why post on a PHYSIQUE section of the site? Unless you want your training and fight plan critiqued, which would be the PERFORMANCE aspect.

Even in top shape I never weighed that much, and I don’t want to weigh that much. But I recognize this is a BODYBUILDING forum, so I don’t knock bodybuilders. I LEARN what I can from bodybuilders and powerlifters.

I would never go to a snowboarding board and knock snowboarding. That would be stupid. It would also be a waste of time. Why read about snowboards when I don’t care about them?

Why spend time on a bodybuilding and powerlifting forum when it’s obvious you don’t care about muscle gains or serious weightlifting?

I guess we put an end to that.

Exactly. The bodybuilder should be able to appreciate what the UFC guy is doing, as long as he’s actually busting his ass and not just making excuses for his lack of development. Conversely, the UFC should be able to appreciate the bodybuilder for his training, again assuming that the bodybuilder is in there working to be the best he can be.

I feel like a lot of guys who have a specific goal, like “I’m an MMA guy” or “I’m a [whatever]” do that because they really aren’t shit, so they try to attach themselves to a recognizable athlete in their sport, when in reality, they don’t really do shit and are just fanboys.

Which is what makes their posts funny. In bodybuilding, all it takes is for someone to look at you to know if you have been training for a while and actually know what the hell you are doing. It seems we get way too many on this board who clearly aren’t making progress yet blame it on “I’m training for strength”…as if that makes up for why it has been YEARS and they still look like newbies.

If you are actually training for a UFC fight, I’m all for you. I would love to hear more from people who are actually in legit fights in organizations…so where are they? Simply saying you “train MMA” doesn’t mean shit. Anyone can claim to be doing that. If you aren’t getting ready for a real fight, you are a wannabe.

While there are other interests on this board, at its base it is still a BODYBUILDING FORUM. If “fighting MMA” is your excuse for why you posted a picture of your 145lbs physique expecting applause, you are on the wrong site.

You know what? This is like a football team locker room. Guys respect each other who put out effort and information.

Tough love is the norm. It’s like the new kid coming into the room and the guys put him into place. The first interface is a test, what you write represents your mindframe and approach. When it’s out of whack, we let the guys know.

If you can’t take it and cry, then it gets worse…and we want you to go away. If you stand back up and show interest and a willingness to learn, then we all become a benefit to that person.

It’s very simple.

Here’s a suggestion; If your life ever hangs in the balance based on one of your hunches…ask someone else for advice on what to do.

I’ve never checked out the Physique & Performance pages so I don’t know how bad it might be, but, I don’t think there is anything wrong with taking pride in having a lean, athletic build. I f you know your not going to be Mr. Olympia or a MMA champ yet you enjoy both sports and want to stay under 10 or 15% so you can still mix it up, fine.

I’ve lifted most my life, but I’ve always done something else at the same time. I’ve got to be more physical than just lifting weights. If that kept me from getting over 2 bills, fine. I’ve had a lot more fun than just sitting around pumping iron.

BTW some Skinny Bastards eat like horses and are still skinny.

Z- I’m a Boarder also. Not at all bad-ass, the drops I work on are more like 5 feet but my screen name is a Snowboard reference, anyway.
