Hey Jim, and everyone else reading this!
A few days ago, i posted a forum about my first powerlifting meet and wanted to get help about the templet going up to the meet. One of the answer i got was: “There’s a lot of ways to skin the cat” and this really got my thinking back to the second edition book.
I am now doing SST, cause as you said in one of you articles “It’s not really about the training program. It’s about belief.” And I’ve had my best gains, and the most fun with this templet. Also, I’ve cut the jokers as you told me.
The templet looks like this:
Mobility
Throws
Press
CGBP
Biceps, triceps, upperback, lats
Mobility
Jumps
Deadlift
Front squat
Hamstrings, low back, abs
Conditioning
Mobility
Throws
Bench Press
Incline Press
BIceps, Triceps, upper back, lats
Mobility
Jumps
Squat
SLDL
Hamstrings, Abs, low back
Conditioning
My question is this:
- For hamstrings and low back, would it be too much to do light/moderat Good Mornings? Thinking about training economy.
- Can the Strength Phase (351 for powerlifting), from the beyond book,be comebined with SST? (Switching week 1 and 2, plus single/amrap on training max)
Thank you for your time.
