Simple Program for a Beginner

Why even ask for help when it seems like you’ve basically just fallen back into what already comfortable for you? You’re free to make whatever decision you’d like, I just get confused when beginners will ask for guidance and then totally disregard it. Such is just the BSL-Beginner category, I suppose.

I’m with you, man. It confuses me too. Over time I guess I’ve started to feel it’s just part of an introspection process on the asker’s part, where s/he is trying to figure out how much they actually want to change.

Do you perform squats, deadlifts, bench press or overhead press when following the guidance of this chart?

You’re right! I have to work harder. I just was thinking that I need to go into work slowly so as not to hurt myself.

I did squats and bench presse in my previous workout.

Respectfully, you’re missing the point. You asked for a beginner program and bypassed a couple suggestions for random stuff you found on a chart online. It has nothing to do with you working hard or not, that hasn’t been in question… it has everything to do with you choosing not to use a program that will actually help you meet your goals.

You don’t owe us anything, so whether you take our advice or not is on you; just know that most (if not all of us) have trained for more than 10 years and you’ve chosen to bypass this advice for some nonsense you found on the internet…

At least do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Super Squats, read it, follow it, then move into something like 5/3/1. Following random pictures you found on Google Images has produced precisely 0 respectable physiques.

I’ll extend my typical offer here that, if the $10 pricetage is too prohibitive to you @FourJo , assuming you live in the US, I will buy you a kindle copy of the book IF, you promise to create a training log here and log EVERY workout and your daily nutrition for the full 6 weeks.

Is it the method at fault or the effort?
