I apologize because I’ve read the article but will be “that guy” anyways. I prefer working out five days a week, I just mentally feel better. Could a low intensity 5th day be added? I’m talking like a couple supersets of biceps and triceps, some rear delta, lateral delts, and abs? Has anyone done this without much hindrance to the program?
Cheers!
No. Hardest program ever. You grow when you rest. Don’t be a stimulus addict. If done properly youll find it hard to recover anyways.
If you want to train 5 days a week I recommend looking for a different program. As Nick mentioned it is extremely demanding and adding a 5th day, even a low stimulus one, will be too much stress.
Ya, I definitely haven’t done something that is so big lift focused and so I wasn’t entirely sure. I appreciate the reply!
Than you Christian. I really want to try it and so I am going to run it as written. With respect to diet I purchased your Type 2 Mass Gain diet from your site previously and I was curious if you felt that the fasting periods would limit recovery on this program. Thank you for your comment.
How long have you been running the program? I ran it twice all the way through and would never want to train an extra day. The “supplemental/assistance” exercise on upper body day is where you get to add and change your favorite lift that’s not one of the main movements.
As the article states, it’s 12 weeks. Drop some of your ab, conditioning, and arm fluff and run it as is. You won’t be disappointed.
You also won’t have much desire to do anything after the 5x8 leg day. If you feel like training the day after you perform 20 sets of 8 for legs then you might have misjudged your loads.
I haven’t begun the program yet but was planning on starting it very soon. I thought before butchered the program I better ask.
