Beautiful deadlifting, sir.
Thankyou sir I appreciate that. Just need to work out how to make it heavier too. Lol
Went for an other massage tonight. My back was great after last week so she only spend a little bit of time on my back working through some kinks and then she went down stairs and gave my legs a going over.
She started with my calves and holy mackerel Batman it was so painful. She noted pretty quickly that I had some scar tissue in my right calf. Which was the calf I tore running in 2016 and which rather poetically was the reason I started lifting weights again. After the calves she worked on the hamstrings which were actually pretty good. So I turned over and it was time to do my quads. Not unsurprisingly with all the squats I do, they were a little bit tight and knotted. The pain was next level, I was sweating with tears involuntarily coming out of my eyes at one point.
Legs are so damn sore now they are vibrating.
Hopefully after a good nights sleep they will feel great tomorrow and even better by Monday when I have to squat heavy again.
If anyone tells you a massage is relaxing they have never had a remedial massage. Fk me !!!
Ack, what a terrifying write-up! I have a fancy spa gift certificate from Motherās Day last year that I have to use, and now I donāt even know if I want to go, haha.
I didnāt realize you were another displaced runner. Lot of members in that club.
If you go for an aromatherapy massage they are so relaxing. A sport remedial massage - not so much.
I started running in my 30ās and ended up clocking around 2000km a year for 6 years. The calf tear in 2016 ended the fun for me. I ran one more half marathon just after rehab but I never trusted the calf fully and decided to call it a day after that.
Yeah man I have to mentally prepare myself to go see my therapist. When she gets to my quads, hamstrings and glutes I have to go to my happy place. Terrible haha
I have to find me one of these. It was nasty
Glad to see youāre seeing some benefits with the massage. Iāve been using massage therapist for a few years now and sheās excellent at finding and fixing all the things I keep screwing up with my lifestyle and/or training.
At this point I get enough feedback from her that I actually use it to adjust my form based on what gets screwed up.

And that is Friday night done. Worked through this a little slowly tonight. Too much chatting. Was still a good session.
Strongman Saturday.
I went back and forth thinking what to do with this workout. Sometimes we have a good idea, sometimes a good idea turns bad, sometimes we have a straight up bad idea and sometimes just sometimes a bad idea turns out good. This was one of those days.
Following on for the overhead medley I did last week. I decided the sandbag overhead was a very challenging but great movement so wanted to do some more of this.
I was thinking how much @T3hPwnisher recommends taking things from the floor to overhead and in his bad idea book he mentions that Grace anything is a good way to go if you canāt think of something to do.
So thatās what I went with Grace with a 62KG (136lbs) sandbag. 30 reps clean and pressed for time.
I actually ended up with a split in the sandbag at rep 16 and then did the last 14 reps with my 55KG (121 lbs) slam ball. Itās a little lighter but you canāt grip it like a sandbag so itās a bit harder to balance on the press.
Video for anyone who want to see me heavy breathing for 20 mins
Thanks again @T3hPwnisher for the Bad Ideas.
Stronk
Made me think of Donk
One track mind you horn dog
What major improvements have you seen in your day to day live by doing this?
100s of followers!
Do you mean - strongman Saturday ? Or conditioning ? Or floor to overhead press ? Or putting videos on YT LOL.
I have no idea if that is surprise or a joke. Either way it still made me laugh.
Floor to overhead
I am not sure if I have seen any major differences. The sand bag stuff makes bending down to pick anything up much easier. Both flexibility wise and being able to pick up awkward things from the ground.
I think getting stronger in any movement has lots of real life benefits. From picking up the kids to carrying the shopping to general yard work. Everything is easier when you are strong and can move.
