I totally get this. It’s hard to find anyone who talks about it let alone anyone who understands it. That’s why I am so lucky to have @wiseman83 as a friend. He lives a days drive away but we message most days about this training and other life stuff. It’s great to have people who want / like / need to do this stuff.

Glad you enjoy the log, having positive people like you read and comment is very motivating. Salute.

Strongman Saturday session was overhead medley.

Log press
Into
Barrel press (42kg - 90 lbs)
Into
Sandbag press (63kg - 135 lbs)

Did one warm up round with the empty log (62kg - 135 lbs)

Then 6 rounds with a 73KG (160lbs) log.

Back was proper pumped from all the cleans after this.

Trying to stay on track with my food at weekends. It’s usually the time I do the worst as I don’t have pre prepared meals. Breakfast is always eggs so that is easy. For lunch today I found some left over beef casserole in the fridge. It was mostly gravy and didn’t have too much meat in it. So when I fired the kids an egg each for their lunch, I fried 4 more for me and put them in the casserole. You should have seen the look of disgust on my families face, as they all said. “What are you doing?” I just smiled and said “having lunch”.

I’ve begun worrying that the kids aren’t going to want to eat at my house anymore because of the food changes, e.g. mixed white/brown rice, adding egg whites into the scrambled eggs, etc, but that (and this is the worst thing) they won’t view it as training person’s food, but rather old people’s food.

Because my grandma’s food was super questionable to me as she got older. White raisins and other horrors.

Felt heavy as they should but they moved. This equals a PR for volume at this weight but I think these reps were deeper. Calling it a deep volume PR. LOL

47.5 x 6 x 4 sets - (105 lbs)
Very solid. Felt Very good to be repping the 105’s. This is most likely a rep volume PR at this weight.

Just proper old hard work. Whole body hurting after these.

What a Bloomin good session that was. Got a few compliments on the squats and Dumbell bench from those who know me. And lots of strange looks from everyone who doesn’t know me. Fkn Quality

Tuesday conditioning session - 7 May

Sled drags - 40KG
Kettle bell carry - 20KG per hand

Each Round was
Up and back carrying kettlebells and dragging sled,
Then drop kettlebells and go up and back with the sled only.
20 length of the car park. 10 with bells 10 without.

Good session, sweating hard and really got the body warm.

Deadlift
Glutes a lot less sore than last week.

Add belt
180 x 3 x 5 sets - (396 lbs) RPE 7, 8, 8, 9, 9
Felt hard and heavy. Glad to get them done

67.5 x 3 sets - 8, 7, 6
Big pressing today. Nice

Hammer strength row
57.5 x 3 sets - 10, 10, 10
Heavy solid rows. Focusing on a really strong fast pull to initiate the movement and the a squeeze at the top.

Pull ups (wide grip)
3 sets - 8, 8, 8
Hard tonight after deadlift and rows there wasn’t much juice left.

Hammer curls
17.5 x 12 x 3 sets
Fair bit of swing by the last set but the pump was very good.

Another good session in the bag.
