Good grief. Very well done!

Great Monday session and perfect week 1.
Squats felt a little heavy but they moved fast enough and back was solid. Everything else was just cream on the cake.
Tuesday night conditioning
Sled drags tonight. Did these carrying a 20kg (44 lbs) kettlebell in each hand.
Each round was an up and back the full length of the car park carrying the kettlebells followed by an up and back without them.
Did 5 rounds. (10 lengths with the bells and 10 without).
Great session.
@T3hPwnisher and @wiseman83 will appreciate these Dan John inspired carry drags
I dig it.
As I mentioned in a text to you, I’m Really digging into his body of work lately. Re read the omni book, and mass made simple.
When I get home from this business trip, I intend to reread Never Let Go, Can I go, and Intervention.
Doing bucket load of driving on this trip, 3.5 hrs in the hire car each day… So been binge catching up on podcast also lol.
Not sure you can take in too much DJ.

Hammer Inc press

Feeling powerful today. Nice
Hammer strength row
55 x 10 x 3 sets -
Good stretch, really like this row variation
Pull ups (wide grip)

Hammer curls
15 x 12 x 3 sets -
Plus 1 set of preacher curls - because - biceps!
Solid arm pump from all the pulling, curls just topped it off.
Good session overall. Deadlift moved pretty well even though it felt heavy. The pump work was fun.
35 mins of dragging the tyre with a 28kg sandbag in it, up and down the street. No idea how many I did but it was lots.
Went for a back massage tonight, it was all sorts of jacked up, knots everywhere. Felt good to have it sorted out. Have booked to go again next week.
My Eldest daughter got some good news from school yesterday. She applied to go to a Student Leadership School for term three. It is a boarding school where a select number of students from schools across the state go for 9 weeks and study a different curriculum focused on leadership. Her school only had 6 places and she was successful in gaining a place. She was so excited yesterday when she found out. She was also a little sad as her best friend who also applied did not get a place. She doesn’t go until July so we have lots of time to get ready but it is going to feel strange only having 2 kids in the house for a term.
So proud of her, she is super bright but also very focused and open to new challenges, She must take after her mum.
Thats awesome!
And yes, probably takes after her mum ![]()
LOL lucky for her really
Feeling pretty darn good after my massage last night, already thinking that tonights gym session is going to be great. Only 4 hours to go, counting down.
Friday 3rd May - week 1
Squat
Bar x 10
60 x 5
80 x 3
100 x 8 x 3 sets - (220 lbs) RPE 0 easy money
These were just easy fast reps. Very slight back stiffness but felt very good.
Bench
Bar x 10
60 x 5
80 x 3
100 x 1
105 x 3 x 5 sets (231 lbs )- RPE 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Paused and smooth. Very very good. I think it would be fair to say these were the best reps at this weight I have ever done.
Bent over row
90 x 8 x 3 sets (198 lbs) - felt heavy but reps were good. Could feel these in my lats, that is going to feel nasty in my massage next week.
Lat pull downs - close grip handle
65 x 12 x 3 sets
Really good stretch in the lats. Really liking these.
Rolling tricep ext
17.5 x 12 x 3 sets - good pump
Seriously one of the best sessions ever. Feeling strong all over and very few niggles.
Post training recovery dinner. The grass fed burgers are for @T3hPwnisher and the salad is for @QuadQueen
Yours is such a happy log to read. This:
Gives me such pleasure, and the enthusiasm is contagious. I spend 8 hours a day talking to people intimately, one per hour, plus meetings and coworker chit-chat, and almost never do I hear people expressing excitement over workout stuff IRL. Sometimes, but not that often. It’s hard! Because there’s also the problem of everyone meaning to, so if I gush about how happy I am or excited about gains of any sort, people feel guilty and start confessing their inadequacies. No one does that to gardening enthusiasts or people who like to draw. "Oh, yeah, that’s great, I’ve been meaning to get back to planting stuff in my yard, but there’s been a lot going on…"
So I can’t say enough how much I like reading the joy in logs like yours.
